VZ58: Optics, sights & mounts. update sept

I know you get what you pay for guys, that's why I'm trying to find the right balance between price and I shouldn't even say quality, more like workability. I wish I had the cash to shell out on a ACOG.

Most cheap scopes I've used, 3-9x lack focus at the top of their focal length. So I'm hoping with less lens elements and a fixed focal length/power these blur issues won't be a problem.

The thing that attracted me the most about these was their overall length of 6.63 inches. Any other scopes in the same price range that are less than 9-10 inches long? 4x zoom is all I'm looking for.

Who makes a mount that would clip into the side rail on a CSa vz58? I got a m4 comp I wAnt to mount. Can't do it forward because of weight. It be nice to get a rail to go from rear all the way to front and mount up with bc tactical rail. Cowitness is useless. I dont need a front sight post obstructing my view. No point having a red dot. If it brakes remove it ASAP with throw leavers.

Can someone identify what type of scope this is?

Co-witnessing reflex sight on NEA rail

Any ideas on what kind of reflex sight I should mount on a NEA top hand-guard rail?

I love the look of C-More style red dots but I'd also like it to co-witness with the original sights.

I know it is possible with Aimpoint Micros and Comp M2 as well as with similar Vortex optics but I find the frame of the optic slightly too chunky/thick when mounted forward in a scout configuration

I've considered something along the lines of a Burris Fastfire but they seem to be a little small.

If anyone has pics of C-more style or Fastfire style reflex sights on their NEA rail I'd love to see them and how they line up.

Thanks!

It's a shame cause I don't think there's anything that's any thinner. Guess I'll have to re-evaluate my options.

Thanks for the feedback Stevo!

The Leupold Delta Point is a bit thinner I think... but not by much. Some nice features in addition as well including motion on/off and a bit wider lense.

I thought it looked a little thinner. I'm just not so sure on whether or not I'm so hell-bent on having this specific set-up to fork out the cash to for a Delta Point. Not sure on exactly how much they cost but I can see it being $400-$500 since it's a Leupold.

Research continues

If you shoot with both eyes open the small "tube" effect from a TRS-25 or Micro is far less noticeable.

The plan is for a multi-gun/CQB set up where I would have both eyes open to maintain situation awareness.

I'm gonna keep looking into things and I'm sure I'll come up with something. Best bet would be to get out and try I few if I can manage.

I have cz858 also, i think I have decided on 2 options. A} NEA railed stock adaptor with cantilever mount and weaver version russian red dot collimator or B} posp on side mount from eastwave ( but still don't know if 4x or 8x } have many thousands of mil surplus awaiting trials}......please share thoughts and opinions.......I also have a norinco ar, maybe I should buy both and use the red dot on it as well, but I can't see having to always resight and zero.......confused and need opinions

quick thought, a second cantilever mount with posp on it, .......would zero hold on both if removed for cleaning, or changed out based on stage of 3 gun?

I like the looks of the NEA cantilever mount. Can someone please fill me in on what stock, adapters or other hardware is needed to attach this thing.

Does anyone know if the Eotech 512.A65 will fit on the NEA co-witness upper hand-guard ?

Is the hand-guard long enough to accommodate the sight?
