I think I shall interject here.
All the guns we have shipped since January have been proof tested by us per US mil-spec.
While this barrel issue is not a common one, as you can see from the various posts on CGN, it has happened to a few guns, both regular and short, over the past few years.
Also, anyone who knows of the Tikka/Sako/Beretta barrel issue from a few years ago, knows that this is not an issue unique to Chinese guns.
Scary stuff. Don't these guns come jamb-packed full of cosmoline? I'll admit I didn't read every response, but could some cosmo in the barrel be a possible factor?
I still think the Norc M14's are tons of gun for the money, but it kind of makes a used one off the EE (and especially one that has been checked over and/or tweaked by one of the experiences M14'ers) look that much more attractive than a new unit. Let someone else proof it with a box or two.![]()
I don't know for you guy, but for me this m14 problem and correspondance in this post by can-am did one thing, making me want to buy more from them truly A+++ service!!

last week, yes. you can tell because the bolt face will be brass coloured and the bag will be open.
Got mine in the mail today. Opened up the box about 1/2 hour ago, bag was open & brass on the bolt face. Right on!!
I wasn't too concerned but the old lady's feeling alot better about pulling the trigger now.
Thanks CanAm for the great service, Canada Post was pretty quick too.
Pictures and your thoughts about your new gun please!![]()
you can always buy a new Springfiel Armory M1A , 4 times the price and 10 times the problems!
I am happy no one got hurt, but this should have never happend in the first place. do they test them before they ship them?
Thats four times this has happend. Should there be a concern?
More BS propaganda. I have 3 and no problems. Keep telling yourself how the Springfields are inferior. I see problematic Norinco threads pop up here all the time. I guess that forged receiver didn't help a whole lot did it?
Practice saying Baaa baaaaa like the rest of the sheep.
Would be nice to hear from Norinco directly on this issue, what exactly is the problem and what they have or are planning to do about it ie. recall. Also, what production run seems to have the most problem with this and why. Does Can Am send the parts back to them? If so do they expect to get some feed back from them? This is a huge company and I would expect that they would be sensitive to negative feed back about one of their products and their reputation.
I dont think they should wait for someone to get killed or injured before they do something about it.
