Robarms XCR FAQ post

Hello Y'All,

Has anyone else experienced pitting on the top of the barrel directly below the holes drilled into the gas tube. The gas tube is installed with the holes directed down. The rifle is chamberd in 223 as purchased. I've run mostly american eagle, winchester 50ish grain ammo through it. I'll be the first to admit I'm lazy about cleaning my rifles after coming home from the range. Is this a common-uncommon issue or did I F*ck up by being lazy.

Thanks for the input,

-Tiber

Fellow XCR-L owners,

Cleaned my XCR today to head off to Connaught for the SR Match and...
After approx the 3000rd Mark the gas rod broke, it looked like a stress fracture and eventually it was almost a complete 360 :(

I could not imagine what would have happened if it had broke during firing!

Anyone here experience the same issue?

Have you talked to RA? Curious what they would say about it.

I barely have 2 boxes through mine.

No I emailed Wolverine and as usual with their unmatched customer service they took care if it immediately. It was mentioned this has never been seen with the operating rod before. Parts were sent out a few hours after I contacted Wolverine. :)

Im sure they will discuss this with RA!

Awesome. Wolverine has always been good to me.

So, did Wolverine send out another piston to you immediately or are they getting the parts shipped from RA? Wolverine has always been awsome, but would they have all the parts for repair for major internal stuff like that?

Well that does it for me I have been wanting a second piston/spring assembly to make it even quicker to swap out my 223 & 6.8 uppers = I'll have a backup if this were to ever happen to me...

I have to agree. Looks like a spare parts Kit may be needed for peace of mind. PLUS it's more money I can spend that my wife won't buy shoes with. Lol!

Part was shipped via Canada post, Notification with tracking was provided.
Wolverine is outstanding!

I finally got my new XCR-M and I got to cleaning it as I do when I get any new rifle so I know that everything is lubed up and good to go but it was dirty it took me 1hr just to get all the internals clean. Has anyone else received there XCR-M in this condition and yes I undstand that they test fire the gun and I would think that robarms would clean before shipping .

Any suggestions for a scope for the XCR-m I am going to use it as fare as 300 yards or possibly further provided it can perform at 300 pulse.Does anyone have some suggestions or like share what works great on there rifle .Keep in mind I have a max of 1000 I can hide from the wife .She still hasn't found out about the new XCR but it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission And that's why I just orders a new daneil defence AR .

You would think they would clean it. When you pick up a new car, they usually wash it and gas it for you. I guess the benefit to this is the evidence of the fact they tested it. Depends on how you look at it. Unless that's the one they did all their stress tests with. Lol! You'll have to give us a range report.

I would expect any and all brand new firearms to require a strip and clean. They should be fully covered in dirty packing grease to avoid corrosion during storage. As long as there is no visible wear or corrosion a pre-shoot clean is no big deal.

No the rifle on the outside was spotless just the internals needed cleaning its not that I mind but if you are going to ride someone's hoarse you don't put it in the stall hot wet and dirty so to speak .
