Elite Black riflemen Sound Off

RFB.

It's funny how all the negative views are always prefaced with "I don't own one, but....."

Mine will shoot 1.5 MOA, is shorter and lighter than any other 308 semi on the market, and works perfectly as long as you avoid steel cased ammo.

Ask anyone that actually *owns* one if they like it. The answer will be "#### yeah!"

Ya I once considered that, but I dont want to be confined to a range. And besides, how accurate are they? I have to say thats probably the one downside to assault rifles is that accuracy isn't great on most of them, but like an earlier poster said, you trade that off for reliability in harsh conditions. but honestly if a swiss can get 1.5 moa a@ 100 yards thats the kind of gun I want. And all I would be putting on it would be some really nice optic of some kind. I've seen dudes put 4k into an ar with all the lights and lasers and what not on it, and too me that would be a waste of money if its only getting 3-4 moa. But as the saying goes... to each their own

And is that with store bought ammo? See if that was actually the case, i would love an RFB, the look rad, are super compact, and its a 308! I've also heard some stories of bad welds and such, but theres always gonna be defects in any product line i suppose. The only problem apparently is getting your hands on one!

I was shooting my brother's tavor, and his buddies Kriss out in the bush yesterday. Love both! The Tavor has a Leupold mk 4 HAMR on it with the delta point holo on top- coolest scope/optic I have ever used! Wow, cool.

Pro's: Tavor- great balance, short, low recoil, 10 rnd mags
Kriss- non-existant recoil for a 45acp, folding stock, quiet (with non-res barrel), 10 rnd mags, great 100m accuracy

Cons: Tavor- strange trigger, single stage, long pull, heavy but consistant, good accuracy, but no tack driver, strange bolt release position.

Kriss- non-res barrel shifts weight too far forward, glock mag loading thumb.

I love the Tavor, but as a shorter, non-res AR15, the price tag seems a little high to me. The Kriss is a unique design that makes complete sense when fired full auto, or burst fire, but fails to amaze me semi auto. On the uppside, it's priced the same as Brs-99, skorps, and tp9's, so the advantages count.

Would someone with a FN fs2000 pipe up with some detailed descriptions?

Accuracy is dependant on the shooter, which is why you get some seriously wide ranging groupings posted on the Internet. d:h: Precision wise, a rack grade AR15 should get you 2-3 MOA with your average random factory ammo, fine tune your ammo and you'll more than likely see no difference between it and a PE90.

As for optics, laff... most combat optics available these days were designed with AR15 users as a primary market segment. :weird:

Just food for thought man. If you have to shoot at a range anyhow, I'd be surprised if you used your non-restricted rifle more than an AR15 if you end up buying both. Also, if you go to any competition, the main people actually competing are using AR15s. Everyone else is just there for the ride.

I'm not saying you should can the non-restricted idea and get an AR15, but your reasons for not looking at an AR15 are odd.

I think my main reason for not considering an AR is that i have a range pass but only use it a few times a year, the rest of the time im in the bush

I love my AR 15's and just got a AR 10, owned a Swiss arms for a month or 2 and couldn't justify the price tag of one. It seems to me like the Swiss arms is more of a perceived value that actual value, people will tell you it's the greatest gun ever made and worth every penny. I just can't figure why? probably to justify the price to themselves.

If it wasn't for the AR platform being restricted the Swiss would be nothing more than an oddity in Canada. As for the other options I have no real opinion as I've never even handled them.

Despite outwards appearances the ergonomics are actually better than the Tavor. Weight is approximately the same. Ambidextrous, although the charging handle is fixed on the left (it ejects forward to the right). Full-length top rail; factory BUIS are crap (front is removable). Trigger is really good and the thing is a tack driver (mine, anyway). The only real downsides are the cost (on par with a Swiss Arms) and that it won't take polymer magazines like PMAGs (aluminum or steel ones only) - and you need to either couple LAR-15's or run them with a C-Products base plate to be able to yank them out. And the non-restricted ones are next-to-unobtanium.

Ok, but it IS restricted. So until things change, its my SA that gets to come out and play in the bush and not the AR.
My local range is 100yds (yawn) which is pointless for playing with rifles.

Thanks for the input! The polymer mags are too wide? The fs2000 is next on the list, can't wait! I only hope we can find a non-restricted one...

The FS2000 was on my list of rifles to eventually get. Unfortunately they stopped being exported and Kodiak who was bringing them in at a decent price stopped selling firearms. I like my Tavor, but would also wanted the FS2000. Hopefully we can get them again. With the bottom rail I think they look pretty cool. The ergonomics look to be excellent. Also I have a PS90 so you need the whole set. :D

Yes, absolutely positively will not fit. Lancers, PMAGs, EMAGs - all no-go. Apparently you can remove the dust gasket and then they'll work - but I figured that kind of defeats the purpose of having it sealed to keep the dust, etc. out.

I went through three before I found the one that was perfect for me. Mine is the tactical flat top version with the heavy barrel (not the thinner one that Kodiak was using). I'm not necessarily a big fan of the lower tri-rail, primarily because it adds a lot of extra weight to what is otherwise a very-balanced rifle. If you want to run an AFG, vertical grip or mount a light/laser on the side it's pretty much an essential requirement, though.

Here's what $3200 got me.

Like it so far, shoots nice, good accuracy outta 55 grain as far as I can push it here (200m). I like that I can switch up calibers for around $700.00, nice trigger on mine, bought it used for $2100, only had 50 rds through it when I got it.
