Ed,
Any update on the number of entries so far and the minimum required to hold the match?
EC,
16 entries total as of today ,last year at same point in time prior to shoot 53
As for minimum number required - relative to type of match held !!!
At THIS point a Provincial championship is not going to happen.(credibility of match will suffer if competitors V competion doesn't reflect a distinct level of difficulty - in that 2 people in one class does not a match make - beat one competitor and you win your class ? NOPE not while I am director,we have worked to long and hard to reserect this event and won't belittle the Match's significance by "watering" the event down , that obviously would not be respectful to previous match winners or the spirit of the match itself. )
Once I have reached the cutoff date Aug 7 I will consider the possibilities based on entries recieved ,and consult with the BCRA executive in order to decide the best use of the range time available to us ,as well as resources required to hold an event . If we do not have the required numbers for a provincial championship
We might have the numbers for a "club"style Match or load development -zero evaluation or " training / coaching style of event , I have an open mind but cold hard entries will dictate style or type of shooting we do ..... If any !!!

Ed,
Thanks for the reply. I fully understand what you are saying with respect to the integrity of the competition. I am planning to shoot this year. The two previous occasions were the highlight of the year. I hope enough entries are received as in previous years as this is definitely a 1st class event and a watered down match or even worse none at all would be a disappointment for sure.
X2. I am signed up and sincerley hope the match proceeds as planned.

I wonder if the the fact that it was four days including zeroing and the extended rd ct vs the three day, zero day and two day match. I shot it in 2010 and there was some gripes that year. Also for guys travelling from out of province, from a logistics standpoint it makes it more difficult, especially booking time off from work.
