Make one wonder what world wide state actors are preparing us for? Keep the masses unarmed, ignorant, and defenceless then rob their wealth and move their jobs overseas.
It is a lot more than just gun and body armour control, a lot more. I would like to know the big plan; I do suspect it has nothing to do with the greater good of the people

Just when we were having a rational discussion. I'm surprised it took this long, it might be a record.

Who can be excluded or exempted from registration? To be excluded from registration, you must be employed by a Canadian federal, provincial or territorial government, a federal Crown Corporation, be a public officer as defined by the Criminal Code or a member of a visiting force as listed in the Visiting Forces Act and deal with controlled goods in the performance of your official duties.
I knew working for Canada Post would have some added benifits one day!

That whole thing is one big F^%$ing joke.

Think you better read that again the last part is the important part "and deal with controlled goods in the performance of your official duties." That is not just for the visiting forces my friends that is for all of you. You do not qualify unless you are a cop, military or own a business and you have a requirement to have it.

Actually we deal with controlled goods everyday.

The Possession of Body Armour in B.C.

In British Columbia, there are controls on the possession or selling of body armour (see Body Armour Control Act and Regulation). Police have the authority to seize body armour that is illegally sold or possessed without a permit. As well, individuals without permits may face fines of up to $10,000 and incarceration for six months. Businesses selling body armour without authorization can be fined up to $100,000 and their controlling members incarcerated for up to six months (see Body Armour Control Act - Fine Schedule).

Who May Sell Body Armour

The selling of body armour may only be done by a licensed security business and licensed security worker authorized to sell body armour. If you require body armour sales type on your security licence, refer to the appropriate licensing section of this website: Security Worker or Security Business.

Who May Possess Body Armour WITHOUT a Permit

Individuals exempt from requiring a permit to possess body armour while performing the job on which the exemption is granted are:
•Those who have a valid B.C. security worker licence authorizing them to provide the services of an armoured car guard, a private investigator, a security consultant, a security guard and / or a body armour salesperson.
•Peace officers, sheriffs, corrections officers and conservation officers.
•Those employed by the government if wearing body armour is required or allowed in the course of the person's employment.
•Security guards registered as a gaming worker under the Gaming Control Act.
•Individuals who possess a valid firearms licence issued under the Firearms Act (Canada).

You can blame the biker gangs, etc who used illegal body amour in the course of their crime. Just like gun registry, politicians voted on this because of some illegal ppl using body armour. Started out in BC, go google.

No it was a red scorpin gang member who sat in a shop wearing body armour and someone took a picture and they went O we don't want them making it a fashion statment blah blah.

Irritating... The NFA and/or CSSA should sue the federal government for liable damages for hearing loss (not allowed silencers) and endangering our lives at the range (not allowed body armor).

I swear. Of all the safety equipment I wear at the range, my glasses, muffs and my body armor are all equally important. There's been more than one occasion where I've been wary of some noobie or dumbass accidently letting a round fly into my back from sloppy handling or not paying attention to what they're doing. Accidents happen, you have to be safe. Body armor prevents the worst from happening.

It's the police that don't want anyone having body armour they are always dictating the laws and telling goverment what an how they want things to be.

O i Know that I spoke with one...

He was like no one should have body armour blah blah I said well I got some... He was like why? I said I was hit by a stray bullet at a local range when it hit the cement floor if it didn't hit the wall ceiling and floor a few more times it would of been going allot faster and would of hurt instead of being a flick. The person was told don't shoot the floor more then once then she did it anyways because her friend told her to do it. So I was shot at a local range so I bought a vest. Thats why I bought a vest the only problem was well I want this and that level of protection then it became to bulky and heavy so I don't wear it.

I could see he changed his mind after that...

has this been resolved? I never thought about owning one until now. I guess if I sell ammunition and test it I would be exempt....also as a Peace officer employed by the federal government I would be exempt.....??! I think it is bull:bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug:. Anyone who is law abiding should be able to own one.

OK so a PAL lets you buy body armor in BC...so we all buy our armor from BC. I'd like to know more about what is required of the business....verify a valid PAL or need to record it and submit it to GOV.
