First time I've heard of those... There was '93 and '95 in spam cans or yellow boxes.
Probably what I'll get from Canam next week.
Last year I picked up a case from Frontier in white boxes headstamped C J 95. It was terrible.
So, I have been having issues with my LAR mags not feeding properly... See new thread in this forum...
I loaded 8 rds of the Norc ammo in a mags and tried running it through by working the action and NOT firing. The rounds were getting hung up AND the copper was being pushed into the brass about halfway. Did this to about 15 out of 20 rds. I would post a pic, but as I am doing this on my phone, I have no idea how... Anyways, the Fed ammo, would also get caught, but would NOT push the copper back.
Just a heads up. I am going to try and get out and shoot some sunday if my road ever gets plowed. I will post an update if I do/can.

Looks like I got yellow box. Shoots good enough, zero failures in my Tavor with lar mags and 5/30 mags. The price is right!
In my very limited knowledge of the .223 vs 5.56 it has alot to do with your chamber accepting 5.56 pressure as well as .223 and your barrel twist. IIRC 1 in 7 twist will fire both .223 and 5.56 well however a 1 in 9 wil shoot .223 well but not 5.56.
It is extremely possible I am wrong, this is just what I have learned from a friend who purchased a tavor recently as it has a 1 in 7 twist and will shoot 5.56 well.

nope, twist has nothing to do with it. it is 100% to do with chamber
a 5.56 chamber will handle both 5.56 and .223 safely. a .223 chamber might not handle 5.56 safely.

5.56 chambers have a longer leade. The cartridges are loaded to a longer Cartridge Overall Length (COAL). Putting 5.56 cartridge in a .223 chamber will cause crush up and could cause a breach explosion. There are some copies of the AR that have a .223 chamber. There are others with a 5.56 chamber marked .223 to avoid export restrictions.

My DPMS AR barrel as no marking on it but is 5,56mm. As C77 said they don't put 5,56mm on the barrel to avoid export restrictions.
Since I want to buy a Remington 700P LTR .223, im gonna stick with the AE .223 ammo, Rem 700P chamber is not 5,56mm, it's really .223. So no Norinco 5,56 ammo for me :-(

Ugh. Ae shoots like crap. Why waste it in a bolt action? Also bolt action receivers and chambers are much more stout. Probsbly csn get away with 5.56 in 223. Ae in my bolt action was garbage compared wuth white box win
Things Military in Calgary had a sale the past few days, $450 for a box (same price as CanAm). I got the 4th last crate
Also, you can fit 15 bricks of .22 with enough room for a layer of 50 round boxes of .22 shorts on top inside the wood crates it's shipped in.
5 crates also make an excellent chair and gun safe weight.

Well, they specifically said not to interchange these calibers on the Remington website, FAQ section. The gun won't blow up in my face but micro fractures can appear over time. That is bad, my #### will really fall off, lol.
I will use match ammo for accuracy test and competition for sure, AE will only be for plinking.
What ever you do make sure you dont get ripped, there are some out there probably buying it out from canada ammo and selling it at inflated prices. I just saw the 1600 rounds of Norc .223 at target sports for $599! when canadaammo is selling right now for $429, feeding off of the ill informed. Makes me angry.
