Exciting new SKS Picatinny Scope rail

I want one just because of the look of it, but my Choate still let's me use stripper clips. But man I'm glad someone made this. Which machine shop makes it?

And I guess it wouldn't work with my replacement rear apperture sight(Williams)?

Anyone receive theirs yet? Looks like mine is being delivered today. I'll take some pictures and provide some initial feedback once it's installed later tonight.

I just got mine today and unfortunately it does not seem to fit with my tapco stock atleast not without cutting into the stock which I really dont want to do. Now I am stuck because I had to cut off my old receiver cover pin.

wow i just going to ask if it fits with a tapco can i ask how much needs to be cut and if this fits all types of sks rifles i have a chinese d model i can live with cutting my tapco stock but i rather not do any cutting to the rifle body.

Wouldn't it just require minimal dremeling... I'm assuming its the side pieces at the rear of the rail? Which Tapco stock is it?

It's the Intrafuse stock. It doesn't appear to be much that needs to be cut away but im all thumbs and tend to screw things like this up. I really cannot stand the look things such as a clearly dremeled spot on my stock.

I will get a tapco stock and see what needs adjusting on it .... I had an ATI stock which I had modified to accept the rail and the material cut away was minimal and very cleanly done. I had a friend use his milling machine to do a nice clean cut, perhaps you have some options there?

I will post pics later today if you like.

I would be curious what kind of MOA accuracy is the SKS capable of with this rail and surplus ammo. I mean I know it is no sniper rifle but still would be interested to know how much of an improvement you get with this.

With surplus I wouldn't expect much still.
I have a BC TACTICAL mount with a red dog - and it was "ok" with surplus.
With zombie ammo my SKS surprised me. It was only 50 yards - and it wasn't a sub MOA group - but it was nice.

I am able to take out steel pig shaped targets that are about 24"x 16" @ 500 yards with my sks using its iron sights and surplus ammo. I am sure a scope will greatly enhance it accuracy

doesnt the tapco stock come with a top rail already, negating needing a picatinny rail on top for red dot style optics?

I could be wrong but I had the impression that using a rail attached to the stock does not hold zero very well. Plus it is way to far up for my liking.
