I got a buddy thats got an old 6.5x55 semi auto and am trying to figure out what it is. I will get some info off it but it will be a few days. Anyways what I do know is the shells that are ejected must be ejected a good 10 feet.

From what I have read there arent many options that it could be as a 6.5x55 semi other than a AG 42 . I believe these are a non restricted correct?

Thanks

Does she look like this (borrowed from Wiki) ?

If so then yes, she is non-restricted.

Look for crowns on it, if you find crowns stamped on every bit of metal, its an ag-42, hoot to shoot, and why did you guys have to warn him of ljungmann thumb? Its a right of passage!

all ljunman's are 6.5x55 , all hakim's are 8x57

to the op , keep your fingers out of the action ........ otherwise you may experience levels of pain you never thought possible :D

YES !!!!!!! These babies will make a "Garrand Thumb" look like a paper cut. Keep your fingers out of the action unless you know how they operate!

Cheers,

B

Well we don't want him to sell his Ljungmann because of it now, do we ? :)

.
The AG-42 Swedish Ljungmann is a non-restricted rifle AS LONG AS THE MAGAZINE HAS BEEN PINNED OR MODIFIED TO HOLD ONLY FIVE ROUNDS.

.

The magazine has nothing to do with the firearm classification. If not pinned to 5 the mag is a prohibited device, it has nothing to do with the rifle at all.

"...felt the sting of..." Both Garand and Ljungmann Thumb are caused by operator failure.
"...Its a right of passage!..." It's incompetence.
"...non-restricted..." Yep, but there's no exemption from the daft mag capacity law.

I don't want to hijack guy's but I need some help. I was looking at a Ljungmann ag 42 online, it seem in great shape , non sporterize but what stomp me is that its advertise as a 8mm mauser. It doesn't seem to be a Hakim as it does not have a post front sight muzzle brake. Are there people who could have changed thr caliber of that gun or would it be a misprint? Thank you very much.
