Definition of a restricted firearm

According to the Criminal Code, a restricted firearm is:

a handgun that is not a prohibited firearm,
a firearm that
is not a prohibited firearm,
has a barrel less than 470mm(18.5 inches) in length, and
is capable of discharging center-fire ammunition in a semi-automatic manner,
a firearm that is designed or adapted to be fired when reduced to a length of less than 660 mm by folding, telescoping or otherwise, or
a firearm of any other kind that is prescribed to be a restricted firearm


If the above is true then how can an 457.2mm(18 inch) barreled semi auto be Non Restricted? Not trying to bad mouth or anything, I'm genuinely curious as to how this is possible.

It is an 18.5 inch barrel.

The muzzle brake, when installed as a muzzle shroud, makes the gun look like an 18 inch barrel. Socom style look. A true socom has a 16 inch barrel.

In saying the front sight is different, that also means the whole front flash hider and assembly, including bayonet lug are different.

It is longer than the 18.5. The muzzle brake is reversible. It acts as a barrel shroud covering the end of the barrel.

Many parts are interchangeable. Receivers are forged. Previous m305 types had a different thread style on the barrel. Plenty of posts here regarding Norc m14 copies.

The Chinese built the gun copying Springfield blueprints.

Don't know. Would assume a little shorter than the m305 shorty as the brake looks shorter than the standard flash hider. Regardless the gun is longer than 26.5.

M305 and these Dominion Arms guns are from the same place. Typical m14 style mags.

Think m305 with a different front sight / muzzle assembly.
