Definition of a restricted firearm
According to the Criminal Code, a restricted firearm is:
a handgun that is not a prohibited firearm,
a firearm that
is not a prohibited firearm,
has a barrel less than 470mm(18.5 inches) in length, and
is capable of discharging center-fire ammunition in a semi-automatic manner,
a firearm that is designed or adapted to be fired when reduced to a length of less than 660 mm by folding, telescoping or otherwise, or
a firearm of any other kind that is prescribed to be a restricted firearm
If the above is true then how can an 457.2mm(18 inch) barreled semi auto be Non Restricted? Not trying to bad mouth or anything, I'm genuinely curious as to how this is possible.
So how is this different from the regular M305 shortie? Other than the muzzlebrake?
thanks
Understood, thanks!
How on earth is that non-restricted that has to be longer than an 18.5 inch barrel.
From a parts standpoint are these direct copy of the M1? Stocks, accessories, etc?
It is longer than the 18.5. The muzzle brake is reversible. It acts as a barrel shroud covering the end of the barrel.
Hmm, what is its OAL length with the muzzle device installed then?
more/better pics CanAm?
also, two questions.
is it a proprietary mag?
and 2, are there any aftermarket or USGI parts that don't fit these?
anything that would make a newbie wish he would have just bought an M-305 instead?
