NEW ITEM: Dominion Arms Socom 18

I just ordered mine with the ammo combo! Super pumped to get the gun, the will be my first M14 ever. Can't wait to trick it out too. Tons of reasonably priced mods, I thnk a new muzzle break will be first.

Ok so what would push me over the edge is a Canadian supplier of an aftermarket two stage trigger….anyone?
Or, lets back up….I assume the parts are interchangeable with all m14 parts?

I'm going to guess that the long version will be about $650 and the shorty $700. They'd be crazy to even consider selling it for more than that.

It will most likely be in th $600 range. Not higher than that or they won't sell as many

I don't know about that, what is the next best alternative for a larger, 'hunting' caliber NR semi-auto battle rifle? Their quality seems to be getting better all the time. I've never owned an M1A, but how far off can they be in finish and accuracy, given the Springfields are $2000+. Garand's sell for ~$1500 on the EE, I just don't really see much else for competition to the M305. They may have less people interested in putting out that kind of cash for one at that price point, but I doubt they will lose a significant chunk of the market share of larger caliber NR semi auto rifles in Canada even at that price, because there are no alternatives. SKS and CZ's aren't really in the same ballpark caliber-wise, although more people will likely turn to them.

I think over time the stigma of "Made in China" will no longer fetch the cheaper price we've all come to expect, and instead products will be compared at face value. For now, I should probably buy another. :)

i will cave in for this one....no point in resisting, i have finally succumbed to my desires... and i like it !!!

the how much part is settled, need to know when...

Hello my na.e is rally guy I am a CGNaholic I have a problem I am addicted to firearms. I will now proceed to taper of my usage of this site until I don't come to this site anymore. Yes I will miss a bunch of great deals, so not so great and some unique opportunity. But such is life. This socom coming my way is the one that is the one that breaks the dam.

The pics of the rifle a few pages back looked pretty decent, but could anyone who's got one confirm whether the receiver dimensions are those of the earlier imports of shorty-rifles from Can Am, which were different from all of the other rifles I've seen or handled? In addition to a few dimensional differences, I cannot clamp shut the trigger group when trying to place a standard USGI stock on my short rifle (someone else on this site removed some material on the stock to make theirs fit) and I wanted to know whether that would also be the case with these SOCOMs.

Put my order in on Wednesday. Payment Processed on Thursday. Shipped Tuesday. Will be here by Friday. Not to shabby!

Canpar are easy, follow the tracking and call them if you see you wont be there and tell them when you will present, work very good, yesterday 2 Socom left for my place, they are scheduled for the 12 of Nov... JP.
