Curse you Chemist! Yet another deal to awesome to pass up. I tried to ignore this thread, I was waiting for the day you closed the deal. Unfortunately I caved and ordered.
I haven't been shooting in a few months now, but something in my gut tells me I need this.
This may be a dumb question but is this something that's going to be a good platform for someone looking to get into some precision shooting?

I know Frontier has a limit of 1 per customer, I didn’t see any limits on orders from SFRC or other retailer.
I don't think this is how Savage intended their goodwill... or maybe I'm wrong.
Circumventing what Savage intended to accomplish with this mil/ leo discount may be unethical... or maybe not.
In any case I would suggest that purchasing any rifle not intended for you or another LEO may be a slippery slope.
You could always inquire with Savage to be on the safe side.
I appreciate your good nature and intentions tho.
From what I have seen online, these things have been sold to the general public at similar prices in the US. Also, once you own it obviously you can do with it as you please, including selling it... I personally would love to get my hands on one at such a great price, even if it was indirectly bought from this deal with Savage.

I read somewhere the Remington 700 Police was originally marked for Law Enforcement/Military members only, but eventually retailers just started selling them to everyone. Hell, even the Aimpoint Pro was originally marked for LE/Mil only, and retailers were actually instructed to check ID for a while, but that’s also gone by the wayside.
The only thing that I’m wonder is, will Savage cut production of these things off. Because if they just continue this line, I have a feeling that retailers will eventually relent to public demand and sell these to everyone. Just as bluebelle said, once these are purchased from retailers, what’s stopping the member from flipping it if he/she doesn’t like it?
I’m buying a rifle I’ve never shot before, just based on existing reviews. My guess is I’ll probably like it and keep it, but what if I don’t? What if I prefer my 700p over this? It’s not prohibitied, so I can sell it to anyone with a PAL if I want. I’m willing to bet dollars to donuts (no, I’m not a cop, haha!) that within a few weeks, these things will start popping up on EE. After that, Savage will probably lighten up on their promo to LE/MIL only, unless of course this IS a limited production run, and once the supply is out, it’s out.
