Hooray! early January Christmas present... to myself... that cost money.... a lot of money.................. Hooray new rifle!

We're just swamped. Once we get thru these xmas specials we'll going to start processing the LE guns, emailing people about them etc.

Ryan

Thanks, that is what I figured. I just wanted to make sure so I didnt miss out lol

Btw, the guns are already in Canada., I just have to have them shipped here from the warehouse.

Any update on the progress? Not trying to seem impatient, and I know it's only the 2nd, I've just been really excited about these for a long time haha

Cheers,

James

i have a feeling Ryan is swamped with orders from the holiday season and they are playing a little catch up.

It's never too cold to shoot. A few of is were out last Thursday when it was -31c (-41c with windchill).

I still need to decide on glass for it though.

Very dangerous for your optics to shoot that cold. I have seen high end scopes break due to use in those temperatures.
Also I worry about the polymer on some guns stress cracking from recoil in the extreme cold.

plus the added issues of cold guns in warm car on the way home, having to wait until they slowly acclimatize from inside to outside temperatures, ect.
Not doing that with my precision rifles.

But to each their own :)

Anyway, Who likes their face freezing on those beautiful Petawawa ranges :)

This is the reason I sold my AR-180b - I was constantly worried about the reported issue of lover receiver cracks at the take-down pin. It's also the reason I stayed away from the Kel-tec SU-16

I know my Glock is made of polymer but I think Glocks have done it (polymer) better than the civilian armalite 180 did.

My Vortex optic has a lifetime warrantee so it should be good to go and I would hope that The stock would be okay too as it's not hugely stressed.

As for condensation in a hot and cold environment - my Glock does it all day long without a hint of corrosion.

We'll see, but service grade weapons should be up for it (with care)

How about a discount for the fire service and paramedics, the real front line workers of Emergency Services. Cheers.....

That's the criteria that Savage gave us. I would like to have seen it opened up the retired LE/Mil, Fire and EMS as well but they didn't.

Also, referring to yourself as the "real" front line anything is a little over the top. Quiet professionalism is a better route IMO.

Yeah, I agree, service weapons generally are built for it, but precision rifles and optics.... not so much....
I would gladly shoot some of my guns in the cold, but not ones I cant afford to replace.

That and I am zeroed for positive temperatures, my long range shooting would need a completely different ballistic table.
and I don't like being cold. lol.

I have done enough winter exercises, and ranges with the military, I don't need to do them on my own.
Winter for me is gun building time, so I can test them in the spring :)

I suggested a discount for paramedics and fire service as well. No intent to offend nor does it benefit me in anyway. I just thought all emergency sevices would be deserving.
I consider police, military , paramedics, and fire as our front line responders.
