SR22 Rifle Questions

I just got back from Elimsprint's backyard range. We tried the new Archangel and HC3R mags with mixed success. I started with Federal Bulk and we had various issues with both mags. The HC3R really was a pain in the Butt, rounds were feeding wrong, falling out, failing to feed, failing to fire, failing to eject, etc. As the mag got broken in, and we got better at loading it, things improved, but it was hardly what I would call a reliable mag. We switched to Blazer and things got better, then we tried Stinger, and things got better yet. I think with more break in time and more experimentation the HC may be OK, but I don't think it will ever be reliable with Fed Bulk (which is mainly what I shoot). I'm glad I just bought one of HC mags.

The Archangel was pretty useless with the Fed Bulk also, but also improved with the Blazer and Stinger. I suspect with a little more break in time it may be OK.

One thing is for sure, neither mag is likely to be my go to mag. Ruger and BC are still MUCH more reliable.

I'm with you there, I think the HC3R has a lot of potential but I don't think it is any better than a BC steel-lip but I guess time will tell. Good seeing you today, thanks for coming up with the new toys.

Wow. Most expensive SR22 I ever seen.
I have very similar set up but without all high end parts.
Very beautiful.

Looks like you had a good day! Wish I'd know you were selling your Sr 22 bbl. I've got another build planned (another another one TEG)

ahhah! This one's a 10/22 in a Nordic. I had a spare stock , HG, and top rail in the pile, so the math worked out to go that route vice "pure" SR-22.

I might sell one though to raise some $. I'm curious how much a difference some of the well known drop-in trigger groups make. Just not $250 curious..yet.

Sold it (unfired) the moment I decided I was going aftermarket short 10.5 inch... way before I had a replacement. It was on the EE for 2 hours, then gone. As was the case with both builds, I was not in a hurry to shoot them... took me 12 weeks to collect and assemble all the parts before a test fire... the pay off was I got good money from all the take offs, mainly BECAUSE they were unused.

I might sell one though to raise some $

Give the boys here first crack at err...

Well thats good to know, so there may still be a few SR-22s available for the rest of the Gun Nutz in Ottawa :)

I have a Kidd 2 stage 1.5 lb (.75/.75) trigger group on order, so I should be able to provide some feedback eventually, although I intend to use it in my DAR-22, then the Dlask modified trigger group will go in the SR-22.

BTW which one are you thinking of selling?

Gee didn't see that coming

Tis always the question is'nt it... all of my guns have female names, based on their characteristics and after past relationships. IDK maybe that makes it harder to part with them... just don't make the mistake and let them hear someone is leaving... you can whisper it to us though GCD

Now that is very interesting. I think you should start a new thread: My guns; their names, and the picture of the ex-girlfriend they are named after. I think it could turn into a very popular and entertaining thread :)

Hahaha absolutly! Until the poor gal stumbles upon it that is...
