Interesting... I dealt with US Kimber back in '09 and it was excellent. They sent me free parts from the US to Canada, obviously things would appear to have changed. Too bad. I always thought I'd go Kimber again because of the service I had received in the past.
 
Sight tool was cleared by customs no problem no thanx to kimber . Another dealer from California had absolutely no problem shipping it and guaranteed it would make it into Canada ... Saying I can't get you're tool into Canada blew up in you're face and you lost a sale and I will never do business with kimber again
 
Customer Service is everything.... A good product can only be better ,with great customer service... Even a less inferior product can become acceptable to a consumer, if the customer service is there... With so much competition for the consumer... crappy customer service will burry a company.

I will never own a Kimber... word of mouth travels far.

Glad it all worked out.

today kimber said our product is not to leave the US I was ordering a sight tool not even a fire arm and they said that to me ... Any one know a canadian rep i can speak to about this ?
Why dont you call WSS, I am sure they will treat you well.
Then again with all the 'tude being hurrled about they just might hang up on someone too.
Kimber and Coopers will never be in my stable... then again I do not own Restricted and no need for a screw driver to adjust my sights.

you guys all know that Kimber has a distributor in Canada that should/does handle issues for guns bought in Canada?

customer service sucks worldwide but start at th right place to make your life easier
 
Kimber, Colt, Savage etc., what's the difference. Their customer service/warranty is all bad. Seems like as soon as you mention Canada, you're basically on your own.

Ruger (through their Canadian Repair Facility in Quebec) has given
me top-notch service. (Even replacing a pistol whose rear-sight dovetail
cut had been machined at a cant.)

I posted the wrong link, like a migraine-afflicted doofus (damn you, Chinooks!). I looked again, and the original .PDF that I read years ago (which I thought I linked to) is gone. But Kimber pistols flunked the dimensional and headspace tests. Kimber obviously has some QC issues. In the era of CNC manufacturing, this is inexcusable. Here's an old discussion of this:

There was some controversy with the NIJ tests, as the Sig P229 .40--used by the DHS, etc.--flunked the drop safety tests. These are obviously very thorough. Here, BTW, is a list of some compliant pistols:

Yea my kimber .22 slide was about 3/16 out and you could see the case with the slide fully closed ..When I called kimber and asked it to be replaced they basically said there was nothing they could do being that I was from Canada this was about year and half ago or so. Now this just happens with them I am done no more kimber hassle for me again
 
I purchased a Kimber Raptor a couple of years ago and it it came with a broken main spring housing. Kimber reluctantly sent me a replacement but it must have been some kind of prototype as the metal channel that slides into the frame was completely in the wrong place. It wasn't even close. They said they would like it back at my shipping expense! Shaaaa right. I still have it. That was one of many issues with my Kimber. Oh I got the NY attitude from them to boot! But with what's going on in the US now I bet they and all the other manufacturers can't keep up with demand which fuels the fire even more.

I have not owned a Kimber rifle, but a good friend [now deceased] had a very nice looking Kimber in 222 Remington.
Now anyone who has fiddled with the 222 a bit knows they are easy to make shoot well.

NOT this Kimber. I had it for several weeks, playing with loads, bedding, etc, etc.
Best it would do was about 1½" 5-shot groups at 100.

When he complained to Kimber about it, they basically brushed him off as well.
Told him it was acceptable in their opinion, and they would not do anything about it.

I got better service by far out of Ruger when I had a 77V that would not shoot well.

No Kimbers for me!! I made that decision long before reading this thread.

I've never had or shot one either. I believe it was at P&d in Edmonton, on a 'shopping trip' while visiting in the area, that I 'looked' at a couple of Kimber rifles. I can only judge on what I saw and to me, they looked like quality work.

I've just fairly recently recently acquired my first Kimber handgun, a Super Match II with the trimmings. Granted, it is the top of their line and 'tiddled' by their custom shop but it appears to be every inch quality. I've only just started using it but compared to any other 1911 I've had or still have, it handles the sweetest of the bunch, so far. I guess the true 'test of the pudding' will be use and results in the days to come. Hope I'm not wrong. My one inquiry by phone to Kimber in Kalispell Montana, I've found them to be more than helpful and willing to please.

I've dealt with Kimber for several items over the years, never repairs or warranty, no need. Basically accessory items, spring kits etc., but mostly for Kimber only items, never a problem. You need to have a broker or drop box or they will not ship. I deal with Brownells mostly, they will ship to Canada, no problem Lots of U.S. firms do not want the hassle of setting up to ship to Canada, and it's not just firearm items. I see lots of people ##### about Kimbers but don't own one, and state they'll never own one because of some talking head on the web. So some clown who can't tie his own shoes gets on the internet and runs his mouth and it's the gospel from that point forward. I've read good and bad about every firearm manufacture out there, and have never based my decisions on the word of some person who rants of on the web. .
