Some really nice rifles in this thread for sure. Here are a couple of my plinkers
10/22 Compact with shortened international stock, I wanted to refinish it but note to self don't strip birch there is nothing good underneath the coating so gave it a bed-liner finish instead. I painted it in way too cool a temperature so it came out really chunky. Smoothed it down with some steel wool and ended up liking it a lot. Added a Williams peep, Lyman front sight, muzzle protector, Creations by Kay mag release, extra weight in the forend and some trigger mods, choate handguard cause it looks cool. Its great for standing target work on the indoor range and shoots better than me.
10/22 Stainless Zytel, Williams peep fire sight, Creations by Kay mag release and trigger plunger, muzzle guard, handguard, VQ internals. I wasn't so crazy about the large fiber optic sight at first but the more I use it the more I like it. Sort of like a red dot without the batteries. and I can do pretty well with it out to 40 yrds.
If you are wondering about the rear sight/base I sort of do my own ace in the hole. I take a Williams peep and shorten it and then use a shortened weaver rail so I can go with the aperture and add a scope with an extension ring when needed. The peep is only held on with one screw but it is on there solid enough.
Here’s the wood
Here is a link to several configurations I have had over the years.

Edit: Somebody asked about the paint, I used EZ Liner from CanTire.
