As Fabrice said, email him to make a reservation for the next batch. We will begin a second production run shortly. We only make 20 at a time and it takes about 30 days to complete them. So if you want to be sure you have one from this next run I suggest you let him know asap.

We also plan to introduce a 1927 Chicago Upgrade Kit in the next order. This little package will let you transform your M1A1 Thompson to that of the "Gangster Version" so fondly used in the 1920's. It will include a new rear site cover, a new bolt handle on top of the receiver and a new walnut vertical fore grip. Price TBA.

I thank you for the compliment on my Thompson kit but I think the MP5 kit will be at least a year or so in the development stage, another year or so in the testing and manufacturing stage and then it will probably cost about $3000 for each kit. But it will be worth it. Just wait and see.:p

Yes. Have you seen the type 97 thread?
 
My 2 kits arrived, had instructions but not the thompson parts diagram as referred to in the instructions...I also noted that the there was an extra hole on one reciever where the rear site is to be installed. Not quite sure how the rear site will sit in there when the holes don't line up. John or Fab can you post the instructions and the diagrams or PM them to me. I don't want to fool around with these if they have to go back, especially the one with the extra screw holes that don't appear to line up.

Probably don't need it now. Between three of us we figured everything out. The hardest part was getting the bolt in and out of the receiver! And that's not even part of the kit! I absolutely cannot wait to take this to the range. From its weight I can tell it will have pretty much zero recoil. This thing is pretty badass. It is really hard to put it down. I've been holding it while making machine gun noises all morning.

I've been doing it for months...:runaway: I still can't put it down when not at the range. Sitting in front of the TV with Saving Private Ryan on the big screen.....:ar15:



One thing that is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. :eek: You must get your trigger lightened. I now have extreme carpal tunnel syndrome from multiple three round bursts. This thing really plays hell with your trigger finger.:p
 
The only reason I haven't hopped all over this is that I see a problem with magazines. This just screams for a high cap mag. The usual suspects all seem to be banana mags - i.e. curved towards the front, which would look like crap. The Pro Mag Drum would be absolutely perfect but A I can't seem to find them in Canada and B earlier in this thread it appears they won't work with the kit.

The whole reason for this kit is it looks like a hell of a lot of fun. A 10 round mag just isn't enough fun.

Any thoughts on a high cap for this baby?

Other than the fact that the drum mags don't work very well, I am developing a set of replacement trigger covers that will allow the use of the drum mag with the kit. They will be available in a month or so, or at least when the next production run is completed.

You will be able to purchase them as a replacement for the existing ones and, once installed, will allow a drum mag to be used. If you go back to the stick mag you would need to re-install the the original trigger covers as they provide some support to the stick mag and without them there will be this big gap between the stick mag and the trigger assembly. That gap would look awful.

There is also a tear drop magazine on the market that we don't have access to here in Canada (yet?). If we can find a way to import that mag into Canada I will try and build an acceptable cover for it that resembles a drum mag and you will have a high cap drum mag for the Thompson Kit.:rockOn:
