Well still waiting for savage to get back to me. Supposedly they are known for awesome customer service???? But I got a message from the Winnipeg cabelas manager when he read about my post and was impressed that he is willing to look after me. Thumbs up to cabelas and down to savage
my bmag arrived last night and right out of the box I can see that the barrel is tight to the left side of the stock and not free floated due to a warped plastic stock. I called boyds this morning and a stock will be out thursday or friday this week for it
Even if it is the operator then ask yourself this. I posted the bullets are keyholed at 50 yards how does a operator make a gun do this???
We blame the gun...we blame the ammo...we don't know the OP personally...so how do we know he/she isn't the problem? If I complain that my Browning BLR 22-250 shoots pie plate sized groups at 100yds...what's to say I'm not responsible for it by jerking the trigger or lifting my head at the shot???
Have the bases and rings been checked to assure they are not loose? The scope checked internal damaged? Was the barrel properly cleaned before firing any rounds thru it?
We are quick to point the finger at the gun and ammo when we should be asking a whole lot of other questions first!
Just food for thought!

I think maybe you should do a google search and just see how many have been sent back! I would say by what I have search and read that probably over 80% have had a problem in the USA where they were introduced first. There has yet to be any answers to fix all the problems.
It will be amazing if this round survives.
Your rifle has a barrel issue and the keyholes are proof of that. The OP says his shoots large groups...there could be many reasons for that.
Savage has the reasons for that, they are taking them back and replacing them with rifles that will give 1.5 groups which is nothing to brag about.
It appears everyone assumes it's the rifle or ammo because there is lots of internet complaints about them. What about all the people that have one that didn't have issues and didn't post on the internet to praise the amazing accuracy they are getting? It's the same deal as the 870 Express...you only ever hear about the few thousand problem guns and never about the millions that are trouble free...although in this case Savage hasn't produced millions yet! I have done the research on the rifle and ammo because I was thinking of buying when Cabela's first offered them. The only reason I didn't buy one is because I remember what happened with with the 5mm Remington Magnum Rimfire...great concept but totally useless when you have the centerfire Hornet case to work with!
Is that why the Remington 870 Express is the most popular selling pump today?
I thinks you might want to do a WHOLE lot more research!!!
You misunderstood me...all I was saying is that you only ever here about the complaints...and for some reason people get hung up on them! Go over to the shotgun section and half the newbies looking for an entry level shotgun don't want to touch the 870 Express because of what they read on some forum! The same thing is happening with the B-MAG. There are guys that posted in this very thread about getting acceptable accuracy out of their B-MAG...they obviously aren't all bad so there's no need to jump to conclusions when one person complains about 4" groups because as stated before, there are many other variables that can be the cause. But maybe you are right...all Savages B-MAG rifle are defective in some way or another! Either way, I'm not buying one because ammo will be unobtanium in 3-5 years at most!
