17 WSM - Savage B Mag

I got a message from savage today asking me for my address and serial number so they can send me a UPS shipping label they want the gun back. They never even questioned my complaint and want to look after it. The only thing I would like to know is what is the rough turn around time?

FYI I can shoot very well and could have floated the barrel bedded the action but I didn't want to screw up my warranty. From past experience with my bench gun if it is keyholed the twist of the barrel wants a lighter grain bullet. My belief is that the 20 grain will shoot better

Go over to the American boards and this is the story on at least 80% of the Bmags. They have a big problem and it not looking good for Savage after they have gotten a very good reputation for out of the box accuracy!

Just as an FYI,

Wholesalesports here in Nanaimo, BC has B Mags in stock and plenty of ammo. Price on the rifle was $299.
I did handle it and it seemed pretty good considering the inexpensive price tag. I dont recall the price of the ammo, but they had lots.

This is another problem, Winchesters QC has gone out the door and there has been a few of these in the boxes!

Makes me want to run out and buy a Bmag, not in this life time.
If that's what's coming out, that would be no quality control.

Boyds is set up for the Bmag now and my order for the pepper laminate Rimfire Hunter stock is in (along with the new Redfield Revolution 4-12x40) Now the waiting game begins, lol

There is probably a reason why they are either hard to find or no ammo for them. Maybe it is a hint to customers that there is a problem. I might have to stick with my. 17 Remington it might be loud but at least I can hit something with it.

or maybe a hint that they aren't as bad as said and more popular than supply can handle????

I wounder if they ship to po box's? Lol..

my bmag arrived last night and right out of the box I can see that the barrel is tight to the left side of the stock and not free floated due to a warped plastic stock. I called boyds this morning and a stock will be out thursday or friday this week for it

It says on the boyds website that not all stocks fit perfect. Do you have to check measurements before ordering?

I'm looking for one. Does anyone know who has them? I've looked but everyone seems to be out of stock and not sure when they will be getting more.

The whole sale sports in Nanaimo BC just told me they have 19 Savage B mag rifles in stock. They just received a shipment this morning. They go for $299.00 and They have about 35 box's of each grain for bullets.

I dont think so. The stocks are advertised to fit the bmag I would assume it is drop in or very close to. I ordered the rimfire hunter in nutmeg on thursday when it was released it will be a couple weeks before it gets delivered

Was shipping expensive?
I was looking again and seen they had colors as well. I kinda like the blue. I love the pepper but don't find it looks that great with
Blued barrel. I think the nutmeg looks best. I need to figure out what model to get. I kinda like the thumbhole stock.

Shipping is typically $35-50 and you may get hot with brokerage fees. Last stock I ordered shipping was $50 and fees were $26.
