1760 yard shoot, its a go. 25 shooters signed up.

I don't think I have much of a chance at a mile with a factory gun, but maybe. I will be bringing a 110 ba In 338 LM with nightforce optics. This will be my first long range shoot.
Hopefully I will learn alot and gain some good experience. Any ideas too help me get ready for this would be greatly appreicated

Tigrr the place looks likes it comin along are u buildin or getting a modular?
My scope is a nxs 8-32-56 and I'm waiting for a 20 moa base...
The 110 ba is supposed have moa built in to the pictcanny rail but I don't really like it..
I just got the nxs today and the weather sucked today I didn't get a chance to squeeze off a box:( Tommorow for sure

It's an npr2 reticule and by the look of things I need about 80 moa.? If the gun has twenty built in like I've heard about it I should be ok. As far as that part of it goes lol
I'm shooting factory Lapua 250 scenars unless the hornady tap ammo works out better but I doubt it. I'm just looking to do the best I can this year and consistently get better.
Anyway can't wait for this to happen;)

So I have a bag of golf balls and 10 pieces of 1 inch pipe. The idea is too set it up at 1000 yards and try and hit the golf balls. I might have to test run that one.
I might set them at different ranges.(Closer!!)

Golf balls at 1000 yards a challenge..... ha! (that'd be an understatement...)

(I thought clay pigeons at 500m would be decently-challenging; I was surprised at how much harder it was than I thought. I think that an exceptionally good shooter would be fortunate to hit a golf ball at 1000 one time out of ten)

If 1000 is too far I can move them closer, say 800. The thing is, I only have 48 golf balls. Have you ever seen how far a golfball flies, when hit by a bullet. Ya might find 1 in 10. Hmm clay pigeons at 1200 yards. Low to the ground so you can see misses. Potential. 16" rod with a tee welded to the top to hold the clay. Thanks rnbra.

Well I've had an interesting 3 days. The land owner said he may or may not cut the hay. So I seen him working on another one of his fields and stopped to say hello. He told me he wasn't cutting the hay, grasshoppers ate all the leaves. Then he told me he rented out the half section and its already been sprayed to kill off all the plants in the field. Okay, so how does that affect my shoot.
So today I go see the land renter and see if I can still shoot there. Turns out the field is being disked today and "yes" we still get to use it. Now we will see our misses too. Whew, I slept very little last night!! Thinking I would have to put a road in around the pond at the 2000 yard spot to make it useable. I don't need any more issues than I already have with the house build. This bud cans empty. later

I see that house still doesn't have any walls or a roof. Sally is gonna leave you......:p.

Ha we celebrated our 29 anniversary recently. All the firewood I cut up for the shoot, instead of house building, she loaded into the trailer. She's a keeper. With only the two of us doing all the work, it gets done slowly. From start to finish I expect it to take a year.(weather permitting) So completion June of next year. Roof on before christmas.
