Looks custom!!
Whom did you get to do the work, like the front strap serrations?

Brian Densmore Firearms (he's on CGN) did the serrations. I fitted everything else:

-Brazos Manny-Dot front sight
-Ed Brown rear sight
-Wolff 13lb variable recoil spring
-Wilson buffer
-Wolff firing pin spring
-Ed Brown slide stop
-Cylinder and Slide hammer, sear, leaf spring and disconnector
-Ed Brown ambi safety
-STI short curved trigger
-Wolff 17lb mainspring
-STI titanium mainspring cap
-Ed Brown flat mainspring housing / magwell
-VZ Operator II grips with Super Scoop (cherry)
-Dawson customizable mag button
-Ed Brown tapped mag catch
-Colt slotted grip screws
-Deactivated Ruger grip safety
-STI pin set
-Ed Brown extractor
-Throated chamber and polished ramp. Polished in a few other places as well.

Trigger is 2 pounds exactly.

I shoot IPSC with it. I have approximately 30 000 rounds through it. (you can see some holster wear on the slide)
I've had 3 malfunctions: 2 from weak mag springs. One broken extractor (broke about 300 rounds ago)

Very pleased with the Ruger frame, slide, barrel, guide rod, bushing, link, firing pin (titanium) and firing pin stop. It's a workhorse.
I replaced the guts for ergonomics and durability. It worked great stock too.

Thanks for the response,
Part of the joy of the 1911 platform is hand fitting the parts! some will disagree, but to me its the definition of a custom piece.
I have thought of trying front strap serrations myself, but am willing to contract that work out. I will look into Mr. Densmore's work.
Is he located in NS, being a transplanted maritimer, I am back in the motherland every August.

Yes I though about doing it myself as well but decided to pass.

Yes, he's in Middle Musquodoboit.

He's fastex on here and he's also on FB: https://www.facebook.com/Brian-Densmore-Firearms-416579031878071/?fref=ts

I've read that the old Star model B semis are not truly 1911s, but that the changes made to the Star Super B make it pretty much a 1911? Anyway, I just received mine and hope the photo will be allowed here.

God's ball's that's pretty.

The USMC switched to ion-bond finish as it is much superior and wears out even nicely and compared to Cerakote paint chipping off.
I was planning to sending this back to colt for an ion-bond finish but I don't think that would happen. Not willing to pay export/import fees and the 600USD ion-bond finish.
Well, I kind'a like now the shade of Cerakote's desert tan better than the current ionbond especially when that muzzle gets dirty...

Finally got the 1911 I swore I'd get as soon as I got my rpal, and I gotta say I totally get the appeal. I love that grip angle.
For a Nork I was pleasantly surprised, it needs no real dehorning whatsoever and I've seen a lot worse finishes on North American made firearms.
