NAA.

I've read good reviews of the R1, but I'm kind of on the fence about it. I like the traditional looking 1911s more than the modern, and the sights and barrel bushing kind of look out of place on this pistol. But hey, if its a good shooter, thumbs up, and I do understand why manufacturers put more visible sights on their pistols these days. Congrats!

Ithaca 1911-a1 in excellent condition that I just snagged. Came with USGI Holster, 3 Little Co. magazines, 10 dummy 45ACP rounds, plus extra Flannery barrel! Schwing!

Yes, if it needs it. (I only restore the dogs). This Ithaca is original though.

Very nice... I think you're making the right choice in leaving it as is. It's not uncommon to make the mistake of trying to polish up and restore a heritage firearm to original. Doing so however actually decimates its resale value. The old girls are worth more in thier original, unrestored conditions. Even with a bit of rust or patina.

I suppose it makes a difference if it's going to be a collector/safe queen or off to the range as a work horse though. Still very nice...
