What was the body weight

I pulled his loins and internal fat out when I butchered him. After 8 days in the cooler ( busy at work ) the halves were 95 and 96 lbs

Shot this guy Nov 20th in the Stead area of Manitoba at 2PM. Stevens 200 in .243 using 100gr. SP handloads, shot at 40 yds. We were just getting out of the vehicle to hunt. Saw this guy staring at us(he looked like a lawn ornament), never moving. I only had time to load one round, shoulder and fire. He dropped so fast I never even saw him go down.

Here is the Buck and doe I tagged this year. Doe was a long shot for my tree stand looking over an alfalfa field. The buck I got tonight. I was freezing my bum off in -18 plus 30KM winds. Just before dark I counted 12 does making there way across a field to a pile of grain off the side of the ravine. I waited patiently and he ran out to follow them and gave me a broadside shot at about 100 yards. Couldn't ask for better. I'm pretty proud of this buck. He doesn't look too big in the picture but he is the biggest one I've shot yet.

That is my Mannlicher Schoenauer carbine in 8X56MS
Great little rig, 20"barrel, double locking lugs, etc.

Handles like a dream.
The bullet exapnded to .680 , that's over twice its diameter!
It lost less than 7 grains of its overall wieght.
