2015 - My Black Rifle shoots sub-MOA groups all day long challenge! Revised Rules!

63 gr and a G1 BC of 0.331, there's your mistake right there. Unless it's scorching hot with high humidity or your at high elevation I'll be really surprised if you can get 5 shots to group below 1" at 100 yds. I'm assuming it's the stock barrel, and at 10.5" it's not going to be spun hard enough to be completely stable. That's not to say your barrel isn't a little faster than 1 in 9 but I'll bet it won't get much better than what you did. Three in side in inch is pretty damn good considering that stuff is likely marginally stable out of that rifle (again assuming it's a stock 1 in 9 twist).

If guys are going to shoot factory out of a 1 in 9 under 20" don't use the 60+ gr ball. I'd give Hornady 55 gr V-Max (55 gr Z-Max and TAP are same) a go. The 55 V-Max is a perfect bullet for this task out of a 1 in 9 twist. The next bullet I plan on trying for serious groups is the 53 gr V-Max. The Superformance 53 gr V-Max is over 200 fps faster than the 55 gr and may be the ticket if the 55 V-Max won't group for you.

Right on greentips!!!

Wish i had a scope on the sks...
Theres stirring the pot for ya lol

You do understand 99% of the people your going to see listed in post #1 of this challenge will be winning with the same gun/ammo/optic they compete with all summer long? .... We could make a 2MOA challenge to satisfy the Tavor/T97/XCR/VZ guys if that would make em feel better?

Don't mind me, just stirring the pot :)

Onagoth, get out to the 100yd range asap and be there first to have their name in the stars! ;)
I think it's safe to say the rifle can keep up, but can you make 25x good trigger pulls? LOL

What size paper is this supposed to print onto? Grid squares too small on standard 8.5x11.

nvm, stretch to actual size.

0.033" off from making the bottom of the list, guess I need an excuse to have another go at it. Top right was the result of stopping in the middle of a grouping for an issue. Groupings were done in the order 3, 2, centre, 1 and 4. First three were completed with one mag change, maybe 30-45 seconds between groups and the last two were done about a minute later.

Rifle used and ammo used, XCR's aren't useless!

Only takes a few minutes to swap a Wartak an toss the Siii onto it... Heck I'll even let ya clamp it into my lead sled... Better bring lots of diffrent ammo to try tho...

Great attempt! Well you just proved you can get sub-MOA with an XCR!

Yesterday I gave this a ago using my new SIG716 & ACOG 3.5x35. I was only able to do two groups because thats how much ammo I had left after the break-in, zeroing, etc. One thing I want to point out, shooting precision with a combat scope like ACOG is DIFFICULT!! And this specific target is very Chevron-reticle unfriendly. I will try again next weekend, but it is possible that we make an easier target for people with combat scopes. I am sure my rifle would perform better in this test using a high magnification scope.
