2015 - My Black Rifle shoots sub-MOA groups all day long challenge! Revised Rules!

:d:d:dThis challenge is cool, i did pretty good with my Armalite AR 10T, ammo use is Lapua Lockbase HPS 170 gr...
One attempt and i got 4 out of 5 sub MOA, next time maybe for the whole thing...:dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

Well that was humbling....and revealing.
Learnt that I need more trigger time, and that this rifle is capable of shooting better than me.
No excuses,I accept responsibility for operator error.....not too shabby groups if you disregard the one Mulligan from each group and only count the best 4 shots, lol, that would make it a respectable 4 outta 5 groups <MOA......meh.

XCR-L 5.56
18.6" Lt Bbl 1/9
3-9x40 Trijicon Accupoint
Caldwell Tack Driver(no rear bag)
Fed XM193 55gr FMJ
1.555,1.880,2.200,1.340,1.406

.........or "best 4 shot" groups disregarding the worst shot of each group would have been .860,1.001,.730,.925,1.224

I'll DEFINATELY be trying this again, room for improvement on my part.....maybe add a rear bag to the setup next attempt?

That's some pretty fine shooting with that ammo. Without a doubt you have a group of 5 sub-moa waiting, and yes add a bag!

haven't been on in a while, saw this and took great interest.
17th page and still no entries from an MR1? lmao

Sitting at my reloading bench, this morning, the Trinimon challenge is always on my mind, did pull out a proven recipe of 167 Scenar Lapua, R15 and BR-2, OAL at 2.780 for semi auto purpose...
I know i can go sub .5 MOA with my AR 10T, also a surprise AR will join the challenge thus the realoading... Looking good... JP.:)

Hey Caramel, didn't you pick up a Les Baer AR Match a while back?

The A in AR 10T is for... Awsome, i almost sold it and my buyer had a change of heart... I was lucky he did... JP.:dancingbanana:

I tested the PMC X-Tac 5.56mm 62gr 2 weeks ago in Alburgh VT, had to zero my rifle for the 1st SR match
I used my JP 18" upper with my ACOG 4x32 ACOG TA31-CH:

I used two targets taped together to make the 5 x 5 groups, I started with the left orange target then clockwise starting with the bottom left diamond.
I seriously was blown away with my 1st 5rd group as I previously tried Hornady 75gr Supermatch which is double the price.
My 1:8 barrel twist likes this ammo...I did achieve sub MOA my 1st 5 shot test but after running to change the targets 100m and back 100m I didn't take enough time to rest and get my heart rate back to resting.
I was definitely moving more and the results on another 4 x 5 shots were approx 1" - 1.5"

With a better shooter and hand loads I'm sure all 5 groups could be sub-moa

Ya, great potential. Try firing all 5 groups with just taking pause to let barrel cool a bit and your body to relax as well as if you're anything like me, sitting still for enough time to fire all 25 shots is taxing. I also aim for the smallest part of the target that is visible from distance (ie. the very tip of the diamonds). Good luck!

I will redo it again in the coming weeks!
