22 LR gouging

For future reference, when this occurs you are supposed to be given $10 off the first item. This is legislated in the Consumer Protection Act and this information should be posted at the register.
I'm pretty sure this is only if they participate in the SCOP and not legislated.

So it was you , the guy beside me who bought 2 biiiiiiigggg boxes , yesterday from AlFlaherty's

possibly. it was 3 bricks (2 were full and 1 was partially full).
were you the one that bought a fenix flashlight and i recommended getting a charger for it because your NiMH charger will not work for lithium batteries?

Was in my local CT store yesterday.

They had wooden "crates" of Winchester (500 rounds) and the normal boxes of Winchester 555. The crates were $59.99 and the boxes were $39.99. I laughed with the clerk about how stupid that was.

As an aside, they had plenty of .22LR, just expensive.

I assumed it was voluntary as well..

Upon review, you are correct. I can confirm that Canadian Tire has this policy. I recently bought a few boxes of 16 gauge shells. They were marked at 11.99 but rang up at 12.99. The clerk checked the sticker and I was right so I paid 1.99 for the first box and 11.99 as marked for the rest.

Yup lots of mini mags showing up at dealer s.Price is all over the map.Was going to buy from wolverine until they wanted $70 shipping 2k rounds to BC. I ended up paying 11 cents a round local, not great but they did not limit how many I could buy.

Shipping ammo is crazy expensive, we looked into the cost of shipping via Canpar for a full case of minimags, and it came out to about $130.00 with zero profit margin applied

Is this new? I shipped two crates of 7.62x25mm for around 60$ They weight way more then a case of minimags. But then again I'm in the center of the world.

Backcountry in Fort St. John has 300 bricks of 40gr AR Tactical for $33 and same in 36gr Mini Mags for $34. I lucked out and scooped the last of the CCI Blazers at $35 a brick of 500.

Its not gouging anymore, its just people buying at any price without even thinking anything else besides "OMG 22LR on shelves' MUST BUY as much as I can at any price !!!"

^^^ I'd check more than one carrier.. that's nuts

The quote's based on a shipping rate out of province with full insurance in a reasonable sized container, no fudging on the weight. We looked at other carriers, and there aren't a lot that will legitimately carry ammo that have any level of reliability at all. So basically we could probably ship it cheaper, but we're not willing to take a chance that it might not make it to the customer.

There must be cheaper ways too ship as I'll give you my last 3 ammo orders and shipping.
May 1st I had 3 bricks of lapua sent from NB, Nordic Marks man and they charged me approx $45
Similar amount of federal blue box and cci troy Landry from cabelas approx $15
3 weeks ago 1500 rounds cci tactical from ammo supply, Calgary approx $20.

Other online retailers seem to be able to offer reasonable prices.
My 2 cents worth.
To Kelowna BC

I was going to say that as well. :) I hear many retailers say it costs too much to ship, quoting $50 for a couple of bricks of .22, when Kate at Ammosupply can ship 1000 rounds of 9mm or 500 rounds of .45acp for $15 or $20. Canpar. several orders.

Cabela's has lots of CCI in stock now. $9.99 for box of 100 CCI Subsonic, Green Tag $17.99, CB Short $9.99, $7.99 box of 50 Stingers. Also has Winchester, Remington and American Eagle.
