25 Yard Freestyle Accuracy.....let's play a game.

My goal for 2016 is to get all 10 shots on the paper.

I have been working on keeping them all on a std paper plate @ 25 for some 5+ years now. Revolver yes. Auto no.

25 is a pretty hard nut to crack for us casual shooters.

I was there 6 months ago. Over 4000 rounds down range since then and I'm starting to pull it together. Shooting .45 ACP can be humbling. I would work on getting the .22 grouping tight first. Was that single or double action?

That was shot single action for the .22.

I don't think I shoot often enough to get really consistent at that range. I take my hat off to some of the groups I have seen posted on this thread.

So did some shooting with my new glasses for driving yesterday. Think I am going to need to explore getting them for shooting now. It made a massive difference to be able to see the target outline, and even the bullet holes at 25m. I haven't been able to do that in many years. The front sight was clear, but kinda funny looking as it's just a bit closer than the glasses are designed for. Still, very happy with this group at 25m (witnessed by Snootworks). Gun was my Shadowmate match gun. ammo was 124 CamPro bullets on top of 4.2grs of Tightgroup with Dominion primers (practice ammo). New rear sight on my Shadow being zeroed. This was done after zeroing and I did 18 clicks down from zero. Aiming at the center of the 8inch circle on the target, so no precise aiming point really, just bracketing the circle. Was shot offhand, not benched.

It's tough to say how the 2 will be compared to the Mate, the mate is tighter I know that, but the 2 has a longer sight radius, not a lot, but a bit. And the lockup is tigher than the average Shadow as well. I'd say mechanically the Mate might be more accurate, but when the bushing gun hits the market all bets are off lol. That gun is so tight it's ridiculous.

at this point we don't know. They said they might bring it as an Orange model in the next couple of years or as an SA only variant as well.

My M&P 22 pleasantly surprised me last week:

I shot this target with the first ten rounds of CCI Blazer I tried in the gun. I didn't shoot any more B-8s on that trip, but I subsequently put 20 shots into the head of an IDPA target at 25 yards, with 13 of those going into a 3x5 card, thus confirming the accuracy.

Previously, I mostly shot Federal Auto Match through it, which required frequent bore brushing to remove lead in order to keep shots in the 8-ring, let alone the black. That just goes to show that every .22 is a law unto itself in terms of what ammo it likes.

Great groups Slav gives me hope someday to get them that tight lol

newbie attempt for the 25-meter club. I got one better with my SR1911, but picked the wrong 8-round mag. :(
this is B8 target @ 25 meters(27.3 yards) as my club uses meters.
