308 vs 7-08 for all round hunting...

You guys do know that the OP bought a 7-08 rifle back in post #81, right? Since he has made a decision, why the HE!! is this thread still going??? Because people are too lazy to read the posts and feel the overwhelming need to provide their advice which has been provided several dozen times by others.
Why repost what someone has already posted. Why continue this conversation when the OP has gleaned all the info needed to make his decision?
Let it die already!!

Where trying to get to 20 pages thanks for support .

The 308 is my choice. Ammo is easier to find and cheaper. You can walk into walmart or Canadian Tire and always find 308.

Both Cartridges are good. Its all about personal preference.

i'm sure it has been mentioned before , if your not reloading , the 308 is the better choice because of all the cheap surplus out there ( well cheap as compared to " factory loads " ) .

but if your reloading , go with the 7-08 ...... then run a 284 win reamer through it :) :) :) .

That is why I went with 7-08, it gives me the option of going 284win later on if I choose to go that route.
