375 Ruger Brass

All the Ruger is is a shortened RUM or basicly 404, it's been done befrore, nothing new here.

Yawn zzzzZZZZZ

The only thing interesting is that you can go out and buy a factory ruger in 375 with a standard action and short bbl.

If there is one thing that has been selling because it is what people want it is the idea of lots of power in a small package. eg, Guide Guns, short action rifles in Magnum chamberings

if discussing the 375 ruger bores you, maybe you should avoid clicking on any topic re : 375 ruger, let alone replying to them :shotgun:

I have my RUM set up with a 4.5 -14X VX111 B/C reticle scope for long range shooting...
It's not everyday you see a 375 topped with a VXIII 4.5x14 B&C used for LR shooting. Kind of and odd combination, but I'm sure it would be more than effective for everything except very up close. :)

.

The .375 Ruger should be perfect for building rifles on 98 mauser actions. The lower lug seat has to be opened up for h&h length cartridges on the 98. It won't be nesesary with the Ruger. It would also make a nice .416 based cartridge.

I set the 375 RUM up as a one gun do anything hunting rifle for remote interior solo hunting trips where I can face the largest most dangerous game including grizzly.

I am using my Marlin 1895GS 45-70 with XS Sights Backup Ghost Ring sights for up close and personal and have it also set up to quickly install a Leupold 2x-7x Compact scope with Leupold quick release rings now but it's power drops off to much if/when I shoot beyond 150 yards.

I can see the 375 Ruger doing the job far more effeciently than the 45-70...

Super,

My second scope for my 375 Wby chambered Sako, built on an FN action is a 4.5X14 Burris Plex reticle. It is for longer elk shots in our open country. The main scope is a 3X10 Euro Diamond German #4 reticle. Both are on Leupold Weaver type QD mounts with steel Weaver bases. Both are sighted in with 260 Accu Bonds moving at 2940 fps. I can change scopes with very little change of POI. The Euro Diamond is on at 300 yards, and the 4.5x14 is on at 100 yards at the crosshair. The plex reticle is perfect for the load I have worked up, and I go right up the ladder to 500 yards.

I am using a Leupold VariX III 2.5X8 and second scope is a 3X9 Loopy, both in Warne QD mounts on the 375 Ruger African. I'm getting right at 2900 fps with those 260 Accu Bonds, so the choice of an elk rifle this year is a toss up.

There are uses for 4.5X14 scopes on 375s, but NOT MANY. I may have a 20 foot shot or a 500 yard shot, however.

Gatehouse the more I look at the ballistics of the 375 Ruger the more I like it...

I had a 375 H&H for years but it just didn't do for me what I wanted.

If the 375 Ruger had come out at the same time as the 375 RUM I would have probably gone with the Ruger instead due to it's ballistics in a standard length action.

Yes I do believe that Ruger has hit upon a winner with this new catridge/rifle combo...

They should neck the 375Ruger down to 35cal so it can be the KING OF THE 35s as well.

It would be MUCH MORE MIGHTY than my piddley little 35 Whelen. :D

Noooo....

I have been able to stay away from .338's and .358's don't do or even suggest this I am running out of money........................ :(

Don't worry...Ruger is a pretty innovative company, but I doubt they will be interested in putting out a 35 caliber cartridge. 35's are just not that popular, and a 35 would be redundant to the 375 in this case. They would both be used for the same purposes...So no real point. You are saved!

(Unless you want to have one built yourself, liek most of the other 35 calibers.);)

No doubt that the 35 Ruger is already out there somewhere.

For all the qualities that the 375 Ruger has, why would these same qualities not be bestowed upon the 35 in the same case? Being redundant has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with it because then 3/4 of all the calibers we shoot now would be redundant as well.

A .35 Ruger woudl probably be be redundant to Ruger/Hornady.

I am sure someone has already necked it down, (I have already seen it necked up) but it woudln't make much sense for a factory to introduce a 35 caliber cartridge. .35 caliber cartridges just arent that popular.

By all means, if you want one, have at er, I'm sure it woudl work well.

I think that all you will be doing is duplicating a 358 Norma Mag...

OK... I'm off the hook I don't now or ever did need a 358 Norma Mag...

It is an awesome cartridge though I just don't need it...

Case capacity of a 35 Ruger may be slightly higher than that of a 358 Norma, just as the case capacity of the 375 Ruger is greater than the 375-338.

I woudl imagine 35 Ruger/358 Norma performance to be similar.:)

So, if I were to bring a #### load of Ruger brass outta the states, would you buy it from me. And if so, how much are you willing to pay? Just a hypothetical question....I am profit driven :D

Well, it is only worht what it is worth. I now own 100 375 Ruger cases, and I'd like a 100-200 more, just liek any rifle I own.

It's not hard to get them, they aren't ridiculously priced or anything.... but if yo are heading south and want to pick me up some, let me know.:)
