Since you guys are all assembled...has anyone on here ever figured out how to charger load a 7.62 magazine in a No4 and been able to get it to actually work smoothly?
I wish someone made conversion chargers that would fit the .303 opening and feed in 7.62 rounds.
#901 for sale at collectors source. The price on these seem to be climbing fast!

How difficult would it be to track down a .308 magazine? I'm assuming without the .308 magazine the gun would only be able to be single loaded.

It's just a suggestion, but if you go to Numrich Gun Parts website, they carry new in wrap Indian 2A1 magazines, designed for their 7.62x51 Lee Enfields.
It may take a bit of judicious fitting, but not much.
Some say you have to file off the bottom half of the rib. Not so. The only thing I needed to do was to stone the latch point on the top of the rib and a very light bit of filing around the face of the trigger guard so that the front corners of the magazine would clear.
Feeds flawlessly and fits snug.

That’d be the efficient .308 route as the other mags are exorbitantly overpriced other alternative like the Sterling and Enfield magazines.
796 in the EE now
It looks like it was cut down a little. and has an Ishy 2A1 butt.

Just checked the master list, it is listed as cut down to a 21" barrel.
Thx Woodchopper for this. I never noticed the Ishapore Butt but the aftermarket mag and Anshutz custom sight. As well the 20’’ ish barrel job was never a DCRA thing I believe or at least never heard it.
His price has been going up and down for a while, likely trying to get his money back. It’s probably worth sub $1000 I’d say as this would be borderline bubba.
Would make a great truck gun..
