...?
You stated in your first/original post that most North Americans are against this, so why post it? I know, to stir the chit pot among hunters. I really don't think that your a down to earth hunter anyway and really don't give a damn or respect wildlife. Hunter Education, hunting magazines, hunting videos, hunting shows on TV don't show these kind of things. Be an embassador to the sport of hunting instead of toting a black gun, think that it's cool what a bullet does to the head of an animal. Thanks bud!!!
The animal has to be shot...and killed if your gonna eat it, no way around that.
A heart and lung shot is not a majestic shot, all the damage is done inside the animal so you do not see most of it is which works out for all the squeamish little girls out there. They do not lay down, nod proudly at you and die from it...
This animal did NOT suffer, meat was NOT wasn't. The shot may be a hard one for you...but not all. it was a faster death and much less pain and suffering then a heart/lung shot would have caused. That, by definition is what I called respect. If you cannot pull off a head shot, don't but not do cry when others can, and do.
---
This shot was so "effective" all be it graphic due to the type of .243Win bullet that it was shot at...the head, which is on top of that a very small target which means it will be a more dramatic effect. If he used an FMJ it wouldn't have been as explosive but possibly wouldn't have been as effect if his shot was off...but hey if looking pretty is all that matters, break the law and use FMJs!!!
Tere is no such thing as overkill. Dead is dead.

Show some class and respect to the animals and society...................idiot!!!
So if we accept the premise that a head shot is ethical, perhaps more ethical than a body shot because death is instantaneous, what if we exchange the doe for a B&C class whitetail or mule deer buck? Do you take the more ethical brain shot knowing that it will destroy your trophy, or do you take the less ethical heart/lung, preserving the trophy but prolonging the animals death and possible suffering?
You are ignorant of moral values...................which is quite typical of recent generations. Sad that people in society such as yourself et al have this attitude. I hope that you don't mentor young people in the hunting world. So black guns are bad...? Do you also drive and use a 50's era car cause it still "works"? Did you still wash your laundry by hand in the lake? Cook all your food outdoors over an open fire? Time are changing and advancing...why can't our guns and our hunting tools do the same? My "modern" guns shoot more accurately then older ones (doing a pure mechanical accuracy test to proves so) as well as lighter weight and more durable. Whats the issue bud?
I was curious what people thought of the video...YOU WERE WARNED MORE THEN ONCE AND DID NOT HAVE TO WATCH!!! I am not for or against head shots. If its possible and you want to do it, do it. If you don't...then don't!!! Simple!!! A dead animal is a dead animal...how is a PROPER head shot disrespectful? I do not eat the head nor trophy hunt so I do not need/keep the head anyways. If you miss...is it worse then a missed heart/lung shoot? Both are bad and require tracking of the animal to finish it off.
Hunting...things die, there is blood and guts. No way around it...do not like it? Buy your steroid infused meat at the super market like everyone else then and go back to pretending nothing has died so you can eat.
Now I am an idiot? Thanks!!!
Stay classy and try not to fall off your high horse!!!

"dosen't have to be pretty or majectic", which was your above quote. As I suspected, you lack class and respect. Your definitely not the poster boy for hunting. The video shows how effective and how the round works/causes damage. You were warned more then once and DID NOT HAVE TO WATCH IT!!! You all knew it was a headshot...
So killing...from a distance is different then close up? Its better to prolong the death as long as you cannot see it? If your gonna kill something, KILL IT...it doesn't have to be pretty or majestic...being fast and efficient at it trumps all.

This is what I would be concerned about too, it doesn't exactly meet any guideline for dealing with possible transmissible spongiform encephalopathies like CWD or "Mad Cow Disease". You certainly don't want the brain matter being spread everywhere which would increase the possibility of transmission.
There is no proven link to CWD being passed on to humans causing health ailments or concerns.
x2...I just didn't want to get into it. LOTS of tin foil on this site!!!![]()
Fellas, first off I know the people in the documentary, I did my deer stalking level 2 on the estate in the show and I culled deer for 4 years there. What alot of you are missing is that 95% of the deer culled in the UK go into the human food chain, mainly they go to Europe but some stay in the UK.What you are watching is a highly controlled culling operation with rifles that are zeroed dead on for 75 yards and off solid rests with moderators, EVERY animal is shot under strict guidelines and processed in a particular way, nothing is left to chance.
Edited to add that this is NOT hunting under any circumstances and should not be associated with it or compared to such.
I myself shot 27 deer in 1 day doing this and I can assure you it is nothing more than a job.
