Wiggle doesn't mean inaccuracy

It certainly does, as anyone who has used tensioning pins and shot ar's at long range competitively will tell you.
It provides a consistent recoil path for the rifle and consistent harmonics to have a tight upper and lower.
I grant that you certainly wouldn't notice if you were just running factory ammo and/or shooting shorter ranges in a somewhat non critical setting.
Being a piston gun, who knows if the acr is even accurate enough to tell.
I'm sending mine to Herron for a bartlein barrel, and will do what I can with epoxy to tighten the fitment up when it gets back.

I guess it would be more accurate to say then a little wiggle won't affect accuracy for any other than competitive and elite shooters. For the average guy it makes no noticeable difference.

True enough.
I plan to use mine for three gun lead slinging mostly anyways.

Well my 6.8SPC II barrel showed up today. Thank you Questar

Was really tight getting the gas block on and the barrel wasn't drilled for the pins but I think I'll just thread the holes on the bottom of the gas block and make a flat on the bottom of the barrel. It looks great and I can't wait till the bolt shows up and I can get it machined.

Trying to line up to take the rifle in Friday with the 223 NR barrel and have it verified and changed to non restricted :D

Looking like Monday for verification now. Dean is busy Friday.
Doesn't matter much, I doubt I'll be shooting away from the range till March.

And thanks to AbHobbyist for teaching me how to make my pics work :D

Well, I finally got the ACR out to the range yesterday and am very happy with the rifle. Ran close to 100 rounds through it with the non restricted barrel and no failures of any kind and it shoots American Eagle 55gr into 5 round groups about 2 inches at 100yds and S&B 55gr into slightly larger. I could probably tighten those up a little if I swapped scopes as the Burris 2-7 has a fairly thick reticle. I didn't try any handloads since I was getting cold by the time I finished with the 17 Fireball and my 300 blackout.

This is a great platform and I'm hoping it's capable of shooting moa with handloads, I'm satisfied with the accuracy shooting cheap stuff but if it can do better with handloads I'll be able to sell the HK, fund another barrel and have lots of cash left over. I have the 6.8SPC barrel ready to go and just need my bolt which is on backorder at Gravel, once it shows up I'll have it machined to fit the 6.8 case head and then see what it can do. I have been thinking I will sell the 6.8 kit once I get a 300 blackout kit built but I'll have to see how the 6.8 performs once it's up and running. To me it looks too close to the 300 blackout using 110gr bullets but the 300 can run everything up to 220gr bullets and 30 cal bullets are easier to find. Plus the 300BLK brass can be formed from 223 which I happen to have thousands of once fired sitting in boxes in the gun room.

6.8 barrel ready to go :D

I ended up drilling it for the taper pins insted of tapping the gas block, worked out well.
It's too bad the regulator is so expensive. It would be nice to have another one. Easy swap though.

Here is a review of the Questar barreled ACR by one of the fellow CGNer. http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/638952-Bushmaster-ACR-Non-Restricted-Review-amp-Range-Report?highlight=bushmaster+ACR

I had similar results with this rifle .

Thanks for the link, I hadn't read that one before. Be nice to steal the first couple pages from it and put them here. The rest of it is typical CGN I wish it had this or that and people making up exuses not to buy one instead of just saying they are cheap or can't afford one.
Nice to see the prices have come down though.
It's funny that even in 2011 they were hoping for factory conversion kits, Bushmaster has really dropped the ball there. I know they got overwhelmed with the U.S. buying frenzy but this is becoming ridiculous.

So I got a buddy of mine to grab me a piece of high density foam from the scrap pile at the machine shop he works at and fit it to my Pelican case and cut it out with a router and a air dremel with the router bit in it. The original foam was cut to fit my RFB that I sold so I needed a replacement.
Turned out really well.

ACR is in at gunsmith getting verified for non restricted status :D
Gave him the 6.8 barrel as well so it is all legal once I get my bolt.

Pretty excited, bought some 68gr BTHP bullets to load up and a box of Nosler 77gr match grade factory loads for it. Have a lot of different factory loads and a bunch of different handloads to try. Will report on accuracy once I get a day at the range by myself.

68gr BTHP are all loaded up, 10 different loads with Varget and 10 with CFE223. Hopefully one of them is a winner. Either way it will be fun testing them all.
I really need a nice day at the range, I must have 500 rounds built that need to be tested :D

Can you post a link, because I can't find this configuration the the Bushmaster website, just the normal 16.5" models.

Buhh, I refreshed the page like 10 times and I was still getting a cached version of the site. Finally worked with that link, thanks.

Here is the pic from SHOT show. Looks horrible with the Enhanced forend.

I agree with you cr5. I find the slimmer, more streamlined look is ###ier and more practical. I'd like to see an extended hand guard (styled like the standard) with a 16" barrel or even the 14.5" or 11.5" barrel.

On a seperate note, I wish they included the enhanced stock as opposed to the DMR one. That would be a nice touch IMO.

There is a PTS extended forend (look back to ThrottleMonkey's pics)

I'd like to see the new non restricted version come with the option of either stock and an optional lighter barrel profile.

for me it is not much of an issue because I intend to convert to another calliber and I doubt I will be switching it back often or at all to tell the truth.

I suspect most people will buy this rifle on the sole basis of caliber conversion and the 223 will see very little use.
