Personally I had the XCR-L with the light profile barrel. I had to let it go to be able to buy more guns for the channel, that is the only reason I sold it. I was very happy with it and I did not put a sub MOA expectation on a intermediate range rifle. It is a fun run and gun rifle and it will serve you well in the scenario mentioned above ( 3 running coyotes). It was never intended as a DMR so don't expect to do too much long distance hunting with it with pinpoint accuracy. For what it is intended for, its great. That being said I used in harsh cold weather and some muggy hot conditions without any issues. I also do not foresee a situation where a normal civilian like me would have to use it in extreme conditions. so never tested it that way.
In a zombie apocalypse scenario it will do minute of man..erm...zombie easily with a hot or cold barrel. Not unlike most intermediate range rifles.
I would love to try an ACR sometime, I have not had the pleasure.
This was my XCR-L....I miss it now ...sniff
And your XCR was awesome while I had it. Complemented the Tavor nicely. Would not have sold it except that I had ended up trading one of my Tavor's for an NR ACR w/Bartlien barrel and it shoots like a laser, so a better suite for me considering the Tav allready does the "minute of zombie" you mention.
Remember I am only a few miles away and you have the option to try any of my gear you wish!
The truth has been spoken! ^ but then they say " oh you need accuracy, why dont you buy a bolt action then" , have fun trying to drop 3 running coyotes with your bolt action lol
It is very doable with bolt action and it has been done before.
If youd consider that "very doable for a bolt action" then the same situation would be like "autopilot for a semi auto" lol
Just because you can not do it and you need a semi auto rifle to take down 3 running coyotes, that does not mean it is 'not doable'.
Read the thread again... I never once said "it wasnt doable" (totally depends on the situation wouldnt it?) im simply implying a semi auto makes the situation so much easier, hence why an accurate semi auto is so sought after for coyote hunting.
Detailed pics and or vid of the failures.
I almost suspect that ejecting brass is bouncing off the ground and back into the chamber as the rifle is exactly parallel to the ground and not angled in any way.

could you explain the failures you also mentioned were had with the XCR but did not give details of? RA has claimed all previous issues with the platform had been repaired with the new version, curious if they were actualy correct and these are new problems that are now becoming apparent or just more of the same.I'll see what can be dug up for a future vid, but honestly this question wasn't anticipated so detailed pics weren't taken and the rifle is gone. If IN MY OPINION the rifle is a bench rest only gun it has little interest to me as I can build a bench rest rifle more affordably.
It wasn't bouncing off of the ground and back into the chamber. The ejection pattern of the ACR would make that difficult to say the least.... and the failures continued until a detailed cleaning.
But it's good to match the CGN username to the YouTube account.

Bench rifles have little interest for me as well, so in that, we are on the same page, but I do bench the rifles to initially zero the rifle. It has it's purposes.
I even wonder if you had an early gen rifle? both of my ACRS, I could place a box 3"x4" three lanes over and 90% of the brass would land in it. I am not popular when the lanes are busy...
It is a shame you are so far away, I love to find reasons to goto the range for testing "this and that."
My acr ejects 15 feet away as well at the 4 oclock position, all within a 3foot by 3 foot area.
One thing is true about the rifle is that it really gets the brass out of there hard!
It ejects further than my cz858!
