AK magazine for SKS. or mod to accept AR15 mags.

Whoever gives himself the right to tell others what to do with their personal property, and in such a commanding tone, should get off the high horse and mind his own business.

"Here, son, let me show you something".

"What, granpa, what?"

-This, son. It's the rifle I used in combat, when I was a lot younger. I did all I could to make sure your way of life would be protected against the enemy. Now, my son, I trust you with this rifle, knowing you will be a proud owner.

- YEAH, COOL, MAN, WICKED! Look Granpa, look what I did to your rifle, it's a lot better now! I chucked the stock away, wood is sooooo laim, and put a black plastic stock on it because, c'mon old man, it's so KEWL!!! And look at the LASERS!!!!!!! Man oh man my Facebook friends will freak out!

- (...)

- Granpa? Hey, are you ok?

bang on I respect these rifles like I respect them men that used them

if my grandfather gave me a rifle I would NEVER "mod-i-fuk" it, it would stay in the same condition he gave it to me. Thats just common sense and respect! The rifle I shoot, I walked into a gunstore and paid $175 for. completely different situation.

It just occured to me that (unless I missed a post or two, which is entirely possible) no one mentioned the difference between a Russian, military SKS, and a modern, commercial Norc SKS? The difference, in my opinion, is HUGE, and has nothing to do with one being better made than the other.

Interesting. What war was the SKS used in again? It saw limited use in Korean and Vietnam war so whose grandpa would be saying that? Some of you are delusional. Stop sniffing the gun cleaners. It's getting to your head.

Nah, Hope's No9 fumes smell too good to stop sniffin' em.

"Everytime an SKS is modded, a purist looses his wings" <---- LFAO
Are you laughing at the premise, or his misspelling of "loses"?

LOSE - to be deprived
LOOSE - not tight

If someone is "loosing" their wings perhaps they should snug them up a bit more.

In that case pretty much any and all firearms produced from 1900's to 2000's should be considered "milsurp" as in those conflicts everything and anything was used.

SKS's were not used in Yugoslavian war, not issued anyways as the M70 was issued in 1970. The Yugo SKS were already packed away in long term storage. Some obviously got used, as some M48's, but what militia and civilians use cannot be considered a "milsurp"

SKS is a funny duck that way. It was not used in a major conflict nor is it seen as a firearm that masses of troops have used in pivotal battles.

I have a Mauser that will not be touched in any way or form as it hold major historic value. SKS's do not.

If that is true, the yugo's must have been off their rockers to keep building them till 89. I think it more likely that all three factions armed themselves with what was available.

Lets do a quick list then. Vietnam, Korea, Yugoslavian civil war (Balkans), Sino-Indian War, Africa (the continent), probably Syria right now, late WWII (they tested and improved it during the final stages of the war), Rhodesian Bush War, Cambodia, South African Border war, South America (like Peru with there Shining Path), its actually a big list. There are still more that's just all the ones I can list off a quick search. Some Mausers never saw action, and I bet there are some SKS's that have seen more action than a K98 on the Eastern Front. Your the one who was going on about ad hominem attacks and look who is doing it now, hypocrite.

Your mag change video is pretty slow. Lots of people can stripper load that fast. Im not trying to flame, just saying, youtube some enfield speed loading videos, or sks videos. Im sure there are some fast guys.

I understand the desire to have 10 rounds, but this way just doesn't seem worth the time and effort.

Just buy an XCR or AR and use pistol mags.....maybe these are too expensive for you I don't know, but thats the route Id go. And did go.

Also I'm not fighting a war, so while the mag restrictions do suck profusely, I wont invest money in getting around them.

Some people in here could really use some Midol. Hormones and emotions have gone full retard at anti-gun levels. Milurpers hate modified rifles and cant stand threads about them. Just say so and direct the stray sheep to the appropriate forum. Starting threads to ##### that your precious forum has been tainted by something you hate worse than a teenage girl is just retarded. Midol, nap, whiskey in your coffee when you wake. Settle down. Breathe. If it weren't for bubba, most milsurps would be worth pennies on the dollars they're worth now. Not all, but think what an all-matching No 4 would be worth if everyone took utmost care of them. I'd trade you an SKS for 3 of them. Instead 3 SKS's isn't much interest to someone with one nice No 4. Since most were hacked up and sporterized, now your rifle is a little more rare and collectible. The sentimental value is also increased. Has that midol kicked in yet? Can you breathe now?

I personally don't sell guns, I collect them. I really couldn't care about the value except it makes it that much harder to collect when you have to pay 500+ for a rifle, plus all the time it takes to find one that hasn't been bubba'd. Something doesn't become more collectable because there is less of them, they are collectible because its something you want to collect.

That's entirely subjective. The EE and gunshows are a good example.

Sigh, that video was not made to show how quickly i can change the mags....it was made last year the very first time i took the mag adapter out to run it through its paces. Did i look like i was rushing? or even trying for a speed reload.

I'm done with this thread....You're telling me to go and buy an AR which is restricted rifle or an XCR which costs 10x what an SKS costs...ever think its not about the $$ but the challenge of seeing if it can be done?
