So, I buy a used CZ858 rifle off the EE. Rifle arrives after I pay and it is the dirtiest thing I have ever seen. I clean it up and take it out to the range and put 20 rounds of Chinese surplus through it. No problems. Leave positive feedback for the douchebag who sold me the rifle. Take it out again next week and get 10 rounds through it and get a case head separation failure. Never had one with my SKS rifles, but I figured the odds were just on that day. Get a broken case extractor and remove it after 30 mins of hammering the live round that fed into the empty case that was stuck in the chamber. Go shooting again and have 3 cases split all the way from neck to rim. Figured I had a buggered batch of Norinco surplus so I switch to Czech surplus. Another case head separation, 45 mins to remove as the case separated approx. 1.1cm from neck. Cleaned the f**k out of it and took it out again. Primer blows out of the gun ALONG WITH THE ANVIL and hits me in the eye. Smoke is coming out of the bottom of the magazine and out of the barrel. Good thing I wear glasses. Call Wolverine Supplies, tell him I think the headspace is long and also tell him I have a spare bolt. He says to try the bolt first and if it does not work to send the rifle back. I explain that I bought it used and he says no worries, he will fix it for a very small price. Great guy he is! I dry run my spare bolt assembly. With the bolt closed and a blank round in the chamber the bolt moves nearly 2mm back and forth! I talk to my buddy DaveGP and ask how the barrel is pressed into place. He says it is pressed and pinned. I take off my lower handguard and discover why the rifle is so f**ked:

Yep. You are seeing it correctly. Somebody took out the barrel pin and drilled and tapped the barrel and installed 3 American made YFS machine screws to hold it in place. Unf**king believeable. Other CZ858-2 rifles are pinned properly. Now I have no warranty at all, barrel has most likely been comprimised from the drilling, the headspace is out around 5/1000" and I wasted 650 dollars. So, to the person who bubba's this rifle and then sold it to me stating that it was "in perfect working order" you can go f**k yourself. If I had not been wearing glasses I would have had a primer anvil lodged in my eye.

Now I have to call Wolverine Supplies back and explain what is wrong with the rifle and from the looks of the the machine screws it looks kinda pricey. As you can tell I am pretty pissed off.

Whow..this is an horror story !!! Glad you were not injured. You should go leave a bad feedback to this guy and request a refund, even if some time have past. That seller should have his ass banned from CGN !!! Thanks for sharing this bad experience....:(

Yes, definitely request a refund. He misrepresented what he was selling and didn't tell you about the modifications he made to it. What an ass, I'd like to hear what he has to say about it though

I have demanded a refund and posted negative feedback. The ears of the barrel pin assembly on the reciever have been CUT OFF and the reciever is trashed. This rifle needs have the reciever and the barrel replaced.

Now the question is why in the HELL would someone do that to a rifle???? What's the purpose of moving the barrel forward like that?

Hummm..... all I have to say is WOW :(

Give the seller time to step up and make this right is my 2 cents worth. If he doesn't, then release the hounds.

Ouch... the worst part is the fact that he charged you $650 for that POS.
WoW! That is a Bubba job... I mean, cmon!! If you have garbage to sell... at least have the price reflect that fact.

I hope it all works out.

I say... I guess so....

Wow. Now I am really ####ing pissed off. The bastard knew it did not work worth a damn, lied to me about how it is in pefect working order and then sold me a rifle with dangerous headspace issues, a cut reciever and drilled and tapped in an effort to hold the barrel in place!

DON'T DEAL WITH LEODVR!

Considering that he did not put his FIRST or LAST name on the parcel with the 858 in it, just an address, I am thinking I pretty much got ####ed. All I have is an address, which may or may not even be a legit one... I guess I am just too trusting, got used to haveing good deals on the EE. Silly me. I don't even have this guys name. :(

I have told him I want the 650 back and he can have his abortion of a rifle back. Misrepresentation is a bit weak of a term, I prefer fraud. The rifle is most likely not even repairable without signficant welding and a replacement barrel being procured.
