Another 9.3X62 bear, now with recovered bullet picture.

beauty bear. awsome story and pics too. im lucky enough to have a fiancee who loves to come along with me and enjoys the outdoors as much as i do too.

Keep that fire burning, Friend. Pays bigger dividends, more and more, down the road.

Forty-four years for us, and still enjoying the outdoors together.

Best to you both,
Ted

I just got to ask. How did you get the bear in the canoe?

Rolled him onto a tarp, and tugged about 200 yd to the canoe, ............. a little at a time. :)

Once we got him there, it took a while to actually get him in! :D

About two hours for the whole operation.

You and the 9.3 did a great job once again. You may be accused of bigamy; shared love between your Lady and the 9.3s... but the Lady don't look too much concerned about that (lol!).

Congratulations!!! The only thing bigger than that bear are the smiles in those pictures!

For all kinds of reasons, I can honestly say I feel truly inspired by what you've shared. What a magnificent way to stay young :D

I'm going deer hunting with my dad next week and you've got me thinking about dragging out my CZ Medium Lux in 9.3.

Congrats to you and your wife.

I looked at your pictures and thought to myself, "I want to be like them someday".

Keep sharing the great pictures and stories!!

Thanks,

J

WHAT A BEAR!

Looks like a great trip. Good thing there was snow to assist in the recovery.

I really wanted to take him back whole if possible. There would have been no way without the snow.

It took five of us to lift him out of the canoe at Tutshi Tanning & Taxidermy. I was leaving town the next day, so they skinned the bear for me, and I delivered the meat to several homes before I left. We have one bag for ourselves, which we will process when I get back.

Great story and pics!!! Did you have a heat source for the tent???

No, however we zipped the bags together, both wore poly-pro long johns, wool socks and a touque, snuggled up together, and were quite comfortable. :)

It was dark at 6:30. We hit the sack at 8:30 and got up at first light, 8:00 am, -12C.

I was always under the impression that grizzly wasn't eaten and told Hannah the same while showing her your pics.
