Dont try an over pressure your loads and things shoot really well.
Problem with a number of match shooters is they want unobtanium speeds so stress all their components and that leads to lousy LR groups.
Prove to yourself, that the bullet, any bullet is capable of shooting accurately at moderate speeds and pressure (sub 60,000psi) THEN start to ramp it up.
Odds are the higher node will be tempremental and you may even see flyers. The bullet is simply being stressed too much. Using the SLOWEST powder that will fit seems to help ease these VLDs down the barrel.
They have light jackets and you are spinning them hard. Giving them a swift kick just gets them cranky.
The speeds that Kodiak is listing is nothing to sneeze at. Anything over 3000fps is awesome.
I always try and find the slowest powder that will be slightly compressed at the highest workable pressure and speed for that bullet. When that happends, I almost always get better then average speed, little vertical, great accuracy, and consistent performance
And if the final speed doesn't meet my goals - I use a LARGER case.
