Hi Phil & Ted;
First, I thought I'd pull the box out and actually check the weight. I'm a little :redface: slow on this one as its something I should've already done. They do come in at 231grs. They are in a red plastic box marked Norma 100 PRECISION MADE BULLETS. On each end is a Norma sticker with the following
Norma No. 69305
9.3 MM (.365" DIAM)
231 GRAINS . 15.0 GRAMS
Oh, and the actual bullet is a softpoint of sorts, in that while there isn't any real amount of lead 'exposed', more like small dimple or hollow cavity.

Don't know Phil, except the bullets, the red plastic Norma box and the Norma stickers on both ends as stated in my previous post, is what I have in front of me. ???
 
I have a huge supply of 250gr accubond but I’m having a hard time finding a accurate load. Tried big game powder and varget with no luck so far. Going to try one more time.
Does anybody have some tips for loading these bullets. I think the large amount of freebore might be my problem

Prior to getting a 9.3x62 and in anticipation of doing so, I started accumulating a selection of components, primarily bullets. My first test loads using the 285gr PRVI, in my 'inexpensive' Zastava impressed me to the point I never tried any of the rest of the 'selection'. Two of the powders that performed most admirably in my 'abbreviated' tests path were IMR 4320 & IMR 4064. As a possible starting point to consider, I notice I my Nosler 5th edition manual, using their 250gr bullet, they list a top end load of IMR 4320 as an accuracy load.

i had no accuracy issue with the load test from imr4064. did you tried john barsness data and way above the published in books one? i had always good luck with varget and 9.3x62 ...

This load is very accurate in my CZ550 with 20.5" barrel
250 gr nosler accubond
59.0 grs H4895
2600 fps
Fed 210 primer
Lapua brass
3.385" oal

His loads were the ones I original worked up to with no luck. I’m going to keep trying as I really like what the accubond has to offer and I have many boxes of them
 
it is interesting to note that the result in real bison and in water jug is very close. that bullet is a keeper please do not use them only for plinking ...

The original owner sold the business to another person, who is not interested in making hunting bullets
I still have a few dozen of 270 grain matrix .366 that I bought from the original owners. I wish I had bought more when he was in the business.
However I do have 200 .366 accubond in 250 grains. Still hoping that BC will reopen the grizzly hunting

Yes, and notice how close it is to the ones he used on his first Matrix moose. This is from one of my previous threads.

"Friend of mine just came by with a couple of 290 gr that he used to take a nice bull moose.



Started out at a tad under 2400 fps from his CZ 9.3X62 carbine. He has been sitting here, relating to me how impressed he is with the bullet.



Retained weight is 281 gr after being washed and brushed clean!



So, what is that, 96% retained weight?


The other one hit a heavy bone and kept only around 92%.





Pretty good first experience with Matrix!





So, now Shannon has added bison to his Matrix record. Pretty consistent, even when breaking big bones.

62 gr. RL 15... a little over 2600 fps in my rifle. I don't seat to the cannelure, I just seat the bullet deep enough to fit in the magazine. I can't give you a figure for group size, but usually "hardball" sized groups at 200. What sort of accuracy are you getting and what are your expectations?
