Anyone still buying CZ anymore?

Consider this, the Savage MkII is a GOOD rifle and it is a heck of a good value for the price. Highly underrated in my opinion.

It is made in Canada. In fact it is made at one of the only other facilities in Canada that could have handled the destruction of the buyback guns, except they aren’t.

There are a ton of other good alternatives at every price point. Anschutz, Bergara, Howa, Ruger American, Springfield 2020, marlin, norinco ja-15 the list is basically endless

Not asking any ones permission. Just wondering how others would think about supporting a traitor in our industry.
I see lots are not too keen on it and I guess neither am I.
Well, you are certainly looking for support via consensus.
But, what ever floats your boat for the great good according to you.
A quick search would have suggested that a few feel the same as you.
Again, if you know you know.
Tight Groups.

I’m not shopping for anything CZ offers rn, so I’ll say that upfront. But from a loftier perspective, firearm ownership has never been more at risk than it is now in Canada-seems like bad timing and a self-defeating stance to say you’ll deny yourself what is (really) in the top 1-2 best rimfire options for the $.

No, CZ shouldn’t be rewarded for Colt’s actions=do what you feel you gotta do. Don’t really disagree with the “F-CZ” guys either, and I DO get that we have a ($) voice on this issue when gun owners seldom seem to.

I can’t help but think that anything that grows the sport ( buying new gear, ammo, taking new shooters out, encouraging people to get their PAL) is good, limiting our own options when the list of available options is already shrinking? Our guns should never go quiet for reasons we choose.

Not judging anyone, and not saying I’m right.

I sold my annies off as I got tired of paying premium ammo prices and have one hell of a time finding it. Back to CCI standards.
That being said, I would prefer something other then my Cooey, so I am having the internal dilemma right now of

TIKKA VRS CZ lol

I find the CZ 457 standards have to thin of a barrel for me aesthetically, but I KNOW they will shoot decent. Plus they are going for around 640 on sale. One heck of a deal. That had me looking at the Varmints variant, they are close to the Tikka in price (about 800 bucks, just a touch over).

SO much good PR for the CZ and some hit and miss for the tikka, im very torn. I know for a fact the tikka will be better for down the road as my collection slowly turns into a tikka collection lol. Just dont think I want to swap the stock right away and the tikka (t1x) have the far worse stock. That being said, I HATE the tikka mags... The look, the feel... bleh! I the CZ mags are fine, stock fit flush and are well made.

It is likely it will come down to what one I can find on sale after Christmas lol

Since the semi-auto ban (in effect if not name) came down, I was looking for something to (functionally at least) replace my fun guns in .223/5.56 and .308/7.62. I was drawn to short, handy, quick-throw bolt carbines.

Enter a SIG CROSS, 16" in .308, and a CZ Trail in .223. I am aware of CZ's involvement in the ongoing shenanigans...

My solution? I bought used. Found one in great shape on #######, price below retail, haven't shot it yet but (aside from a few odd details) happy with the look and feel of it.

My $$$ went to another Canadian who bought it before any of this was a thing. So, I get the rifle I wanted, none of my $$$ goes to support CZ's antics, and I can sleep at night.

I don't think the actions of Colt Canada reflect upon CZ. Colt Canada would've partnered with the government for the buyback scheme regardless of which parent company acquired them because Colt Canada is the main small arms supplier to the Canadian Armed Forces. It really has nothing to do with CZ. If Vista Outdoors or another major conglomerate had acquired Colt Canada the outcome would have been the same.

I'm sure the parent company CZ knows all about what is going on with their subsidiary Colt Canada just like i'm sure Anheuser Busch also knew all about the Bud Lite fiasco.

You're not going to stay in business long ignoring what's happening with your subsidiaries.

So I had my eye on buying a very accurate rimfire in 2026. My Ruger 10/22 is good but I'm at the point I'd like to upgrade.

I had thought a CZ457 would scratch that itch but with the gun "buyback" fiasco and the fact that Colt Canada (of which CZ is the parent company) took the contract to destroy the "buyback" guns I am not even considering a CZ anymore and instead will investigate buying an Anschutz even if it costs a bit more.

Anyone else still considering CZ as a company to deal with at this time or is it not even an issue as far as you're concerned?
CZ president stated publicly this was false and not involved in the Fed scheme. Guy like you just keep ignoring the truth -direct answer from the people running the company and keep on pushing those false line around.WAKE UP.

I'm pushing towards 70 years….At this point in my life, if I decide I want a new CZ, I will have one…I doubt I will see any positive change in what is left of my shooting life.

If you want one, get one.

This is why we lose. I’ll keep “fighting” if not for myself then for my kids and my unborn grandkids.
