BCL Siberian 1000 round range session - awful results

It's not that anyone thinks you're lying, just that you're attempting to present a glaringly obviously NOT scientifically relevant/serious test as though it was. Your test was rushed, and it almost seemed like you wanted the gun to fail, based on how excited people got when it did. There was nothing professional about the video, but you're expecting to be taken seriously and praised.

If you want to be taken seriously, you have to be a bit more serious.

But at the end of the day, like I said before, good things came of the video regardless. We know that the Siberian has serious over-insertion problems. We learned that it prefers some mags over others, probably because they're less prone to over-insertion; and now Siberian owners or potential Siberian owners know what mags to buy, or at least what mags not to buy. So thanks either way.

Ah. i think i see the confusion going on here. MrMeatshowers video was not "the test" in totality. nor is the video the final and formal report. His video and the shooting/testing it encompasses is just one section of the testing, the Full report with a detailed breakdown of each type of stoppage will be typed up and formatted into a PDF. This video was more of a light hearted sneak peak done in his format. as i said, we do have to work on out communication a little bit and make it clear what is and is not the official "final draft" of the report/review of the gun.

There have been other people such as the Hunting Gear Guy who have made videos both on this rifle, and the WK181 rifle that we tested previously, but if you would like a more accurate look at what you can expect from a formal CFET report, here is a link to our previous and first test's final report: the WK181!

Your test was rushed, and it almost seemed like you wanted the gun to fail, based on how excited people got when it did.

No one wanted the gun to fail! I personally own one and really wanted to see it shine as mine has been flawless yet it’s too low round count to say for sure.

We all wanted to see this thing blow through all 1000 rounds without issue.

Seriousness is clearly not video style of 95% of the YouTubers out there. Serious is boring, fun is, well fun.

What was truly proven from this test is that there is inconsistencies with the Siberian. There are accounts of 5500 rounds and no major failures to a gas block splitting in half within 20 rounds And everything in between. Quality control and tolerances seem to be the issue. FTF, FTE, over insertion, etc are the symptoms. There are many accounts of these issues straight out of the box.

BCL needs to step up and fix the issues and do more testing. Their customer interaction is very poor, I have tried multiple times to give them more money and they just ignore you. (Unless your guns broken)

Before I’m discredited for being a new member and not posting, sorry I run a small construction company, try to run 5km a day and spend my weekends outside. So no I don’t have time for forums.

I agree - no one wanted the gun to fail. I also expect the gun to be tested by the manufacture above and beyond whatever maybe considered normal. Especially for a firearm that is supposed to be built for the ourdoors, and I mean - it was named Siberian. I am assuming the named it after the place or the tiger, so it should be rugged and tough.

As the dude who filmed this this test, I can guarantee that no one wanted this rifle to fail.

Quite the opposite in fact. We all wanted it to do well.

That being said, Buy a type 81 :)

I've never tried. I've always kind of thought that forcing a mag all the way in one direction or another would be a good way to cause feeding issues, so I avoid it if I can.

With regards to using the mag as a “ mag pod” .
I use to do it all the time with a C8 and STANAG metal mags. Never had one issue.

Just out of curiosity, what type of oil was used during this testing? I find I can avoid any break in requirements if I use G96 with shell roteilla 0w40 T6 diesel oil on the high wear points. Soak it in G96 at least the night before. It’s a metal conditioner. Also significantly cuts down cleaning time.

For mags, the best in almost all my platforms are the D&H mags I bought from Saskatoon gunwerks years ago. Seems to avoid a lot of the issues that many have with Pmags etc. Otherwise a STANAG metal mag would be my goto.,yes I have pmags, herra and a few others. Some guns love them some don’t. The old standards while not as cool looking, tend to hold their own.

Sounds like the trigger is a must replacement right from the start. The BCL102 was the same way.

Every now and then I consider buying a Siberian. But.. never been a fan of the AR 18/180 design and it looks like it’s worth waiting another Gen of the bcl before even considering it.

Thanks for the video. Looks like you guys had some fun.

Optics.

Sounds like the Tavor issue. Height will need to be Tavor optic height or 1.5” height rings/mount. Common with all the Tavors and Desert tech rifles.

For oil we used Hoppes Boresnake CLP. The gun was lubed before the test as well as during

That might make for another interesting test video..heck even the straight diesel oil. my money is on G96. Never had great results with any CLP. Hopefully Hoppes got rid of the crappy BBQ smell in many CLPs.

A friend has the necessary license to perform such tests. But it is not really relevant. The AR/M-16 design is a mature one, having been in series production for some 50 odd years. Untold millions of rounds have been expended. When produced by an experienced manufacturer with full resources, the rifle is going to work. Period.
These AR-180B clones are a different kettle of fish. How many pre-production examples get tested to the point of failure? Do the companies have the resources to thoroughly develop a product, and not put it on the market until it is ready for release?

I dunno... IRA seemed to do just fine with their select fire variants 😁

That thing was run really, really wet with oil. I've never needed to run an AR that wet, and I find lubing my R18 with a thin film of moly to be plenty.

8x posts on a forum and then telling people to buy a 7.62x39 rifle that your so called 'CFET' group has not, and would not 'test'? You missed the cheap 7.62x39 crate ammo and semi autos in Canada over 10 years ago! A lot of you guys must be pretty new to firearms and internet forums VS 'social media'. The one other guy in your group Tyler111762 also said his first 'black rifle' was a WK-180! If I were you guys I'd stick to trying for the 'social media' viral videos, as forums will generally weed you out pretty fast if you aren't a real contributor and just here for your 'viral 30 seconds'.

Alright man. at this point we've gone past misunderstanding, and at this point its just gatekeeping. I didn't realize the legitimacy of of these tests was entirely predicated on the "join date" under our names on the forum or having the misfortune of *not having a PAL* soon enough in my life to have taken advantage of deals on ammo in 2013. We'll be sure going forward to insure the primary qualification to be a CFET tester is being in possession of a CGN account that is older than 2010.

In the future, I'll be sure to consider making an effort to have developed an interest in firearms earlier in life, and having been born sooner.

Send me 10K rounds and I'll gladly put them through my T81.

Hi Gents,

Thanks for doing this.

The "fat" guy is a bit annoying but all in all it was a good watch, keep them coming!

Cheers,

That was funny!
It’s getting Savage CGN style in here!

I appreciated the effort and work put into this. I think about getting one of these rifles every now and then. After this and HGG showing the gas piston/system can’t be removed for cleaning.. it’s a hard pass for me. You guys just helped me make the decision which would have been a $1700 mistake. I definitely appreciate that.
