BCL Siberian 1000 round range session - awful results

Send me 10K rounds and I'll gladly put them through my T81.

That’s another rifle I consider once in a while. The problem is back in the day they had CZ858 rifles for $700. Milled and just great rifles. I’ve handled Chinese AKs which felt like crap. SKS isn’t a favourite of mine either. With the T81 being sort of a mix.. I don’t know. Looking at some of the quality concerns, and the stock possibly a weak point, I just can’t do it. I saw one live and they had tape on the back of the stock were it looked like it started cracking,?Be glad you weren’t ruined with cheap non restricted cz858 rifles. It’s hard to take any of the other com block rifles seriously. The SVT40 is an exception, I really like them but 7.62x54R so a different world.

now the SKS is not good enough either.

it goes bang every.single.time and the target always has a hole in it after.

.... at this point we've gone past misunderstanding, and at this point its just gatekeeping...

It's an unfortunate part of this business. Good luck, I hope you find a constructive solution.

...In the future, I'll be sure to consider making an effort to have developed an interest in firearms earlier in life, and having been born sooner.

Indeed. If that's the hurdle you need to clear to communicate with that segment of the community here, think hard about whether it's worth clearing. As said above, you're never going to make everyone happy. This forum can be as much yours as anyone's.

Trigger warning on CGN should be along the lines of keep your finger off the trigger until your on target and ready to fire.

Hazing and taking the piss out of the newbies in a male dominated field is a fairly old tradition....It's not the only way or necessarily the best way, and it's easy to imagine why the post modern diversity, equity and inclusion folk might not like it. Iron sharpening iron.... Bullying is no longer seen as having any value in more progressive countries, and going from free range parents, to helicopter parents, to snow plow parents is just what happened.

Turns out confidence is earned by getting through difficult spots and coming out the other side wiser and stronger.... sticks and stones and all that old school nonsense.

I appreciate the testing that the CFET crew is doing. Seems to be an awful lot of hate for little to no reason here from guys who either:
A) Spent money and don't want to be told it was wasted
B) Didn't spend money and don't want to be told they missed out
C) Only shoot from a bench, in warm weather, from a lead-sled so think any test that involves a gun getting dusty is stupid
D) Mix and Match of any of the above

This is literal evidence of Oxygen theft and why it's a serious crime

You were probably looking at the T81SR. They have a known issue with a cracking stock. It's a ridiculous design flaw that was remedied by warranty stocks that were sent out by TI that included a threaded insert that gave the stock a much better third connection. I fixed my original stock with a threaded insert and have the warranty stock in a cabinet if I ever need it. I like the gun in its fixed form but the stock issue would never have happened if they actually tested the design.

Probably was the SR. Thanks for the info!

Let's not confuse Type 81 design (in any original variation) with modern commercial modifications to civilian version to address AK/SVD hunger in Canada. There are no issues with original Type 81, except for you know, it's like half a century old and even back then did not have a goal to create customizable platform.

...What?? Lol

Thick skin is what it boils down to and the realization that when you put out content, the critics and haters are bound to show up.

Criticism isn't all bad and can be constructive if you can sift out the good points and flush the rest mentally.

This thread is wack. If a gun needs to be cleaned after 500 rounds it’s bad, there is no way I would consider such a device reliable, and it was shocking to read that people were okay with that idea.

I hope BCL sorts the firearm out though for real I want this to work and be a good quality piece, but the cope of needed it a trigger, specific magazines and a date with the techmat is abhorrent at just about any price point over 300 bucks.

I thought it’s ability to shoot around corners was fairly unique? :p

Any thoughts on the LMG version ie stock issues?
