Burlington gun club...5 month wait minimum!!

How about HAHA or Wentworth, they are in the same area.

NG

Somehow I don't think the alternate club/s is the issue here. I am sure there are other clubs around. I believe that Burlington had enough prospective new members that voiced their opinion to send a message to the club that they seriously need to re-evaluate and change something............for the much greater good of the sport and all gun owners

Hopefully they heed that message

I am sure there are other clubs around.

With the exception of Silverdale and Hamilton Gun Club (clays only) all of the "other clubs around" have significantly more onerous joining procedures. And yet for some reason, BRRC is catching flak for it. Go figure eh?

With the bulk of our annual member renewals returning or in-bound and a waiting list to join the club that stretches to June (the very genesis of this thread), we've heard the message loud and clear. Strong growth, competent leadership, dedicated web presence, expansion of our sport and discipline dominating leagues and continued focus on driving member value is the message for 2011.

I havn't yet had the chance to check HAHA out... but I've heard similar

If you think they are bad, check out Hamilton Gun Club....Fudd city. No pistol, no revolver, no rifle, no black guns, no archery, no trout pound...just trap, skeet and sporting clays! And you have to follow ATA/NSSF rules...ick! If you only have one bird, you only load one shell! The horror! :p On the bright side, they have a liquor license and make a damn fine western sandwich. :D

As soon as I found out they were scattergun only I ignored them since they are pointless for my needs.

The six most DANGEROUS words ever to muttered by the BoD of BBRC are as follows " We've always done it that way" Extremely troubling. And for those of you that don't understand english, the french version is F^^k You. No offence to you Skeetgunner, sounds like you are there to the end, do us all a favor, if you're the last one out, please turn off the lights:bangHead:

Put on some long johns and a coat and get out to Silverdale and have some fun !!!!!! Dress for the weather
You can have your vehicle right where you shoot. You can get warm around the fire in the steel building down at the ranges. You have clays, archery, handgun and longer distance then any around the area. Run by and membership wise the most friendly helpful people you will ever meet. I drive around 4 other closer clubs to get there.

Well, might not be the place, but since I see the discussion of ranges here, I'll ask. I'm from Richmond Hill, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any close (I know, there's no "close" ranges but I'm not looking to drive to london or anything) ranges? prefferably outdoor as I only shoot rifle at the moment.

Put some feelers out there. There are plenty of Silverdale members from in an around your neighborhood, may be able to carpool on occasions.

Barrie Gun Club has some pretty good facilities. Lots of shooters from Toronto, Aurora, Concord, Mississauga that go up.

As a matter of fact, i have heard so many good things from this site and from my buddies who shoot all over about silverdale. I am planning day trips to head there with them.

Friendly and fun are the operative words.............words that ALL CLUBS SHOULD LIVE BY

Yeah, my main issue is that I don't have a car, I'm a generally broke reservist lol

Your situation puts a damper on things as there are none in the richmond Hill area. You might try Target Sports/Grange by Stouffville road if you shoot 22lr only as it is indoor.

We are our own worst enemies. Burlington is a "safer" gun club I suppose? The stigma and the bull$hit in the firearms community is stifling.

We are Wendy's best allies.

HERE HERE X2

we need a "universal" range safety course good at ALL clubs in country or at least province
