CCI MiniMags HP 36gr $7.99/100 Cabelas

Pfff, so a shelve tag got missed. You would have got the sale price at the till. Or like the guy above, ask for a price check.

Not the way it was. I asked for the online price and they matched it. The store price was higher at the till. Any walk in customer pays more.

I have had the same experience as well at the Calgary Cabelas. The CCI AR 22 ammo was on sale recently and they had stock in the store so I popped over to grab a couple boxes and it came up at full price at the till so I showed them the sale price shown on Cabelas.ca and they honored it but it was a bit of a hassle. Whatever, it was a great sale price so worth the inconvenience but strange why that happens.

A little story. I live on Vancouver island (Victoria ) and the closest cabelas is about an hour and a half drive away. I just recently got into precision shooting (if you call using a norinco ns522 trying to group half inch target that. The ol 5 groups of 5 challeange.). I’ve only used bulk ammo to try this and it’s doable but I always get one flyer or so to throw off a grouping so I thought I’d give these a try.

Headed to the local Canadian tire after calling and they said they price match cabelas. Get there and get the ammo to the cash (reg 12.99) and they said they don’t price match ammo tho. No problem I call the newer Victoria Canadian tire (largest in Canada) and they said sure. I think it flew under the radar that they arnt supposed to price match ammo. Bought 10 boxes at 7.99. They said that they were loosing a buck something off of there purchase price for each one. The only stinker is that they used to give you back 10% in ct money for a price match. Ie spend 100 bucks on something that is price matched and get 10 bucks back ct money. They had to stop because they were loosing out

I remember buying and price matching a case of blazer (my favourite bulk ammo ) and spending 200 and getting 20 bucks back ct money. Oh those where the days. Hopefully this ammo is all that I am hearing and more.

Think of it as an investment, some people put their money in a bank where they receive 1-2 % interest annually.

This price may double within 5-10 years... when stored in a climate controlled room the price of ammo generally NEVER goes down.

I agree with you 100%, Milsurps and Quality Ammo are gold that won't let you down for purity. I agree with banks stealing left and right and Bitcoin being well ? insane guns and ammo are solid. I have sold at least 50% of my investment portfolio and redirected it to barterable goods like guns/ammo/etc... Imagine what Ammo will cost after 4 more years of liberalism.

Somehow I think you will get a call from Cabela's confirming your order of 1000 boxes lol

Awesome... 1000 boxes was only $9029

My poor mailman.

And just think if you lived in Alberta -- you'd have saved another $640 on that sale (no PST to shell out for). :d

So it was a on-line sale price only but you still got the on-line only sale price in store just for the asking. I don't see the problem.
I agree there should be one price whether in store or on-line but perhaps they are trying to get the people that want a bulk order to order on-line and not empty the shelves at the local store for those that have a Cabela's nearby? Just a guess.

Will it never end? Now we have a "Winter Clearance Sale" with the same pricing: h ttps://www.cabelas.ca/product/101379/cci-22-long-rifle-mini-mag-hp-ammunition .

Psssst...Code word at clearance = BLOWOUT. Now you have to buy $99 worth of bullets/miscellaneous to get the free shipping.

Note: in the time it took me to type the above update the price jumped from $7.99 to $9.59!

He/she who hesitated is now lost.

Looks like they took a 2$ price jump. Saving 2$ per box now instead of 4$. Glad I scooped some up when I did.

yup//i also made an investment grade order, they actually called me to double check the order, and still got free shipping, the poor UPS dude will hate me more now,a while back Cabelas had bricks of Federal blue box for $30.00 a brick, dude was sore then too,LOL.ammo is a better investment than anything else right now,

I'm pissed right now.

I placed and order for 10,000 rounds (2 cases) on the 4th.

I phoned on the 11th and asked if the order was in transit yet. The girl said it was held up because "extra shipping charges" had to be calculated on ammunition orders.

I mentioned that other people on this forum were receiving their ammunition orders with free shipping and she said she'd get back to me.

I got an e-mail yesterday stating that I'd need to pay about $46 extra because of the weight.

I called them and explained it was two separate cases, so weight shouldn't be an issue.

Now I'm waiting for a manager to call me back in "one to two business days".

I'm not happy with their customer service right now. It's not like I'm out in the boonies anymore, I'm only about 30 minutes away from their Abbotsford store.

Now that they've jacked up the price, I can't even drive there and get it for the same amount.
