CCI MiniMags HP 36gr $7.99/100 Cabelas

Ordered 3 packages (900rds) of AR Tactical on January 1/18. Inserted a free shipping code. Received my order yesterday by UPS without any problem.

I think the free shipping is cancelled on ammunition over a certain weight. I know for shippers they charge higher rates due to extra work insurance requirements (like WSIB in Ontario).
Still it is counter intuitive that a person can order
10boxes of CCI for 7.99 and get free shipping

ordering
100 boxes of CCI for 7.99 and get charge an extra fee for buying more?

doing the math
10 separate orders charged to your credit card will cost Cabela's more in service fee's than if processing the whole order at once.

why then charge the customer more for a bulk order when the Ad itself does not have a specified limit. Suggest if shipper has weight limits to break your shipping order into smaller lots.

you'll win and if your nice can try to swindle a freebie for your hastle as a good customer!

I don't know what the big deal is, unless someone calculated the sum total of the two cases and considered that the shipping weight.

A case of 5000 rounds of Mini-Mags isn't all that heavy.

Two (or more) of them would ship as separate parcels in the truck.

I'm pissed right now.

I placed and order for 10,000 rounds (2 cases) on the 4th.

I phoned on the 11th and asked if the order was in transit yet. The girl said it was held up because "extra shipping charges" had to be calculated on ammunition orders.

I mentioned that other people on this forum were receiving their ammunition orders with free shipping and she said she'd get back to me.

I got an e-mail yesterday stating that I'd need to pay about $46 extra because of the weight.

I called them and explained it was two separate cases, so weight shouldn't be an issue.

Now I'm waiting for a manager to call me back in "one to two business days".

I'm not happy with their customer service right now. It's not like I'm out in the boonies anymore, I'm only about 30 minutes away from their Abbotsford store.

Now that they've jacked up the price, I can't even drive there and get it for the same amount.

Thats too bad, hopefully the manager will honour the price for you, even if you have to pick up. I ordered a 1000 rounds two days ago and got the sale price, and I'm about 30 minutes away from the nearest store as well.

Not the same brand, but the golden bullets are backorderable for $79.99 per 1400. Works out to $5.71 per 100, limit two buckets. Can’t beat that price lately.

Nothing Remington Rimfire works well in semi autos. Or not for very long anyways. Without exception they are the dirtiest ammo I have fed through my guns.
Went through one brick and swore never to do that again. Powder residue, leading and duds.....

Thanks, I hope so too. It's not like they haven't made enough money off of me in shipping fees over the years.

Got one of my orders today.
UPS damaged the box and 1 package of ammo missing. Called Cabelas and they told me they would reship the missing 100 pack. The box was roughly cut in one corner and ripped open. It looked suspect when I picked it up at the door. So called right away. For everyone check your boxes take pictures before opening if you suspect any box tampering.

And not nearly the same quality IMHO

The "Golden Bullets", especially out of the "Range Buckets", seem to be pretty dirty. My Ruger 10/22 and my Mark IV are acting up after a little while, need a good clean. No such thing using CCI's.
Also, less misfires. Over all a better experience at the range and worth the few extra dollars.

Will never buy Goldens again. Dirty and run poorly in my guns.

Waiting on my Cabelas shipment as I type this. Delayed one day due to weather out west. Fully expect it to show up soaking wet and falling apart. We shall see...

Picked up my very large order at local store... in store pickup seems like the way to go... perfect condition, help carrying the pallet out to the truck, and got to flirt with the pretty young lady behind the counter... (now I need an excuse to go back, better order something else ;) )

I talked to a manager two days ago and explained to him it should just be two cases that aren't that heavy.

He said he'd get back to me yesterday (after he talked to the shipping guys) but he didn't call.

I got a call this morning from the original girl I'd spoken to saying they would try to ship it UPS at no extra charge.

We shall see what happens next.

I might as well have just driven to Abbotsford and picked it up myself. It would have eliminated the likelihood of any rough handling and damage.

Oh well, live and learn.

I bet you were just discussing your, um, "investment portfolio" with her.
