Cheap SHTF, barely will use truck shotgun.

Hatsan Escort was $300 last time I saw one

7+1 IIRC so a bit better capacity than the rest of the stuff listed here

Where did you pick that up from. Nice looking gun.

The Maverick 88 has consistently been the most reliable shotgun for me and they're one of the least expensive options. I've bought a few brand new and have many friends and family who own or have owned them. Not 1 single problem. I haven't bought an 870 or clone that didn't need work to run right. They all needed repairs or modifications just to function properly without regular malfunctions.

I'm sure it's be about $375 if it gets restocked. The 590A1 SPX (one with the bayo) is $809! Our dollar is pretty low. The 88 Security was $289 at the same sponsor, but sold out.

Keep in mind that just because a gun is in a vehicle it is not necessarily in transport, storage rules may apply. A person was convicted to unsafe storage for a firearm in her vehicle. Her lawyer argued that transport not storage rules applied because it was in a vehicle however the judge determined that she could not be transporting it as she was drunk at a residence and it would not be legal for her to transport the firearm.

You can legally store a firearm in a vehicle if you follow the storage laws.

So under transport rules a side saddle loaded with ammo would be fine, but it would have to be locked in a metal case under storage rules.

I don't store firearms in my vehicle. I just call beaters or ones you care less about truck guns. Something not afraid to get bounced around, or beat up a bit.

Whats a good but cheap ( I know oxy moron ) SHTF shotgun, Something I barely will use it but just want one to have shotgun?

Something I could put a side saddle and maybe a folding stock. I might shoot a box a year thru it.

Would a Mavrick 88 18" cylinder bore fill this void or pay a little more for a 870?

Dominion Arms Grizzly in 8.5 or 12.5"?

Just got home from a week in Edmonton. My Maverick 88 with the 18.5" barrel and a pistol grip traveled with me. I carry it in a TacStar soft case. I'm considering putting a top folding stock on it. I've had this shotgun for eight years and I've haven't had a problem with it although I've only put around 100 rounds through it. While in Edmonton, I made the rounds of all the gun shops of course. I'm seriously considering going to a 20 gauge to shave off a little weight and for less recoil.

If you have a PG only, get the Shockwave Raptor grip, it's the best PG for the money. Takes a lot of torque off the wrist... or just put a folding stock on it. A 20G will never replace a 12G, but that's just me.

Mine travels everywhere with me too. Well well over 1500 rounds of the cheapest of the cheap ammo out of my 18.5" pistol grip and it's smoother than every and nothing has broke. I'm pleased as punch with my two Mav88's.
