Christmas Sale GNG Carcano Moschetto

Some m41 rifles left the factory with recycled serialized ww1 bolts. During the war, bolts in storage from scrapped early rifles were used in production.

If you seen an m41 with a mismatched serialized bolt (stamped in ww1 fonts), it's often correct.

ok received mine from marstar I wasn't expecting much so I was pleasantly surprised when I unboxed it

I received a 1942 beretta with original wood numbered to the gun wood has seen use but no cracks and not beat like the example above metal all has finish and no rust. rifling looks sharp and deep with no rust and not dark cleaning kit WAS present in stock

bolt where they numbered? as I don't see any markings on mine

That's nice, other than the beater Claven2 got they all so far seem to be a decent value. Although his rifle should have been $99.

This thread has convinced me to get myself a couple of these. I just ordered 4 from Marstar. So im hoping that I will get a few decent rifles! I will be sure to update here when they arrive. Excited to get them!

Lol. Which one?

Honestly. The first one wasn't too bad apart from the stock having some pronounced dings in it. It's got a nice bore and shoots well enough.

The second one... It's better now but was definitely overstated with respect to condition.

Great move! Hope you got a mix of fixed and adjustable sight models. Buying 4, I'm sure you'll get at least some nice ones and some variety.

Be sure to post photos!

That's because he sold a really nice 1919/Brescia/AD 3302/TERNI 1927 cartouche, to moi!

Ordered a fixed sight Moschetto Modello 91/38 Cavalleria from Marstar.

The second one, I'd be satisfied with the first for the sale price.

Rear sight was also pretty bent up, had to disassemble it all and streighten all the parts in a vise, otherwise the long range sight was obscuring the battle sight view when flipped forward - at least that's sorted out now.

What's the trick to disassemble the rear sight? My "push to adjust" bar for changing ranges is pretty bent up and very difficult to push in (as it turns out, it was on 'battle sight' setting on arrival and was just looking again at the rifle last night and noticed). I'm hoping to maybe be able to disassemble and then straighten the thing so it operates smoother

You can unscrew the sight from the barrel (2 screws), and you can detach the flat spring from the sight blade and remove it.

The disassemble the push button, you need to support the button with its shaft in a slot and punch out the riveted on shaft. Not easy to do. After cleaning, you re-rivet the shaft.

It is likely not worth disassembling the button assembly. Clean it up best you can with a fine steel wire wheel in a Dremel and oil the crap out of the shaft if you don't have the necessary skills.

Mine arrived today - I'm stoked, perhaps I was the one that got the 'near mint' rifle from Post 133....

1936 Brescia. Wood matches receiver and overall is in Fine condition. Very slight surface rust in a couple places, bore looks good. No cleaning rod.

Overall, very very happy with this rifle! Thanks GNG

two things with my 1942 berreta

slugged the barrel today its .267 so all the bullets I have for my Arisaka won't work.....

second the cleaning rod trap door is near impossible to open the spring puts so much tension any way to fix this everything moves freely and is now well lubed. not that it really matters as I will never use the rods

remove the buttplate. The spring is screwed on from the underside - it could be intalled upside-down. Try flipping it over to see if that helps. If not, you can lessen the spring tension either by thining out the underside of the spring with a dremel, or by heating the spring in the middle with a torch and letting it air cool. If you try the torch method, a little at a time and trying over and over until you have the right tension is better than heating it bright hot. If you take too much temper out of the spring it will get soft and need to be re-hardened by quenching.

Mine also arrived today, Also in good shape, No cleaning rod, I think I may have thrown out 2 Carcano cleaning rods when I was cleaning my loading room as I didn't recognize them, So that's unfortunate, Anyways here it is.
