Colt Canada C8 versus Everybody Else!

Yeah back in 2007. Gonna be the same as ANY AR15 out in the market.

Diemacos come with an Accuwedge? News to me.

Also, loose fit? Really? You have examined the new rifles/carbines and found the uppers and lowers to be loosely fit?

have 34 of them in stock where i work. each one has a accuwedge in them, why else would they need it if they were a tight fit ?.

Talking with some of the best AR armourers in the world has lead me to believe that a tight fit up to and including welding the receivers together does not meaningfully improve accuracy.

I like the idea of them being on the market, but truth be told, I think there are better options on the market for your dollar. I guess it all depends on _why_ a person would consider Diemaco. These rifles also have the Diemaco rollmarks, and I think many were hoping for Colt.

Im well aware lol. So im not sure why a company like colt would put one into a $2200 ar15 unless they are trying to hide a very loose upper/lower fit.

A loose fit is not the biggest issue, although for the coin these things are commanding I would like a snug fit.

my view on it, is its a $2200 ar with a CHF barrel, lose fit without their rubber insert, and a crap trigger. so in essence, you are paying for a basic Match grade AR with a military style trigger, and lose fit for twice the price of other AR's that have a better trigger from the get go.

A CHF barrel makes an AR "Match Grade"? HAHAHAHA

Lots of Match grade AR's out there.

Just thought of something. Do these Diemaco rifles have that weirdo proprietary sort of rail system?

I had a c8a2 and needed to file down the top rail to make an Elcan spectre fit. Diemaco rails aren't the standard size.

As for the rails I was worried about that as well. Had to file my C8A2 rails down overseas to get an micro t1 to fit. However I was relieved to find that my trijicon srs fit just fine on my sa15.7.

Sure there better deals out there, unless you have a history with a Canadian Colt AR you wouldn't understand, It is the same as car folks who always has a soft spot for the car their dad had or the car they went on their first date in.

Brand new Issued C7A2 came with one. Back in 2006.

And literally everyone (including us gun plumbers) removes them from C7s and C8s (at least in Valcartier).

If you guys are talking about CF C8s, we never had C8A2s. They were never bought and were never in the system - ever. They are different rifles with different barrels. We've had the C8FTHBs (with the black furniture and no ambidextrous controls) and C8A3s (with the green furniture and the ambidextrous controls of the C7A2).

And yup the top rails on the receivers of the CF rifles sit higher than regular AR-15 top rails. I think this is also true for H&K 416s. This is why A.R.M.S. makes a flip-up rear sight especially for C7s and C8s. If you bought a commercial flip-up rear sight you'd find out that they sit higher than the front sight. From what I saw, judging by pictures only, the rails on the civilian models are the standard AR-15 height and should be fine.

Actualy just trying to put at least a little positive spin on them. As paying $2200 for an AR that is no better than a basic military AR seems absolutly retarded to me.
