Colt Canada C8 versus Everybody Else!

NEA is not really the $1000 rifle to compare to, they are closer to Nork then Colt lol
Windham, Colt 6920 from IRUNGUNS, Armalite, Bushmaster, there is a long list of decent $1000.
$2000+ gets you into the higher end manufacturer, that would be much better kit then these offer.

One can have more "kits" for 2000, but it does not mean they are better kits.

People are definitely getting a better rifle with colt canada, just not more stuff in the box. Take a look at the weapons in a CF armoury and experience the abuse they had been put through, and then look at the commercial rifles that had been babied with a few thousand rounds.

Whatever Colt canada does, they are doing it right.

Putting a spoiler and gold rims on a lada, it is still a lada.

yes you're all correct in everything you say, but its still 2100 compared to 1100 for a 20inch armalite.
i dunno, I'm not the ministry of defence, I'm kinda on the fence with this. Plus i have to deal with that goddamn stupid front post sight.
if it was 1700 bucks, this would be an easy decision...
i have a tough decision to make.

I don't think you can get a CHF barrel from Armalite for starters. I like Armalite products generally, and own several myself. I think the CC is step above... and it's Canadian.

Come on guys, the CC is $1200 more than the Colt LE6920 (who's price when it was going for over $2000 everyone used to defend too because of it's supposed superior quality). The only appreciable difference anyone has been able to ascertain is this magical CHF barrel, and we all know a CHF barrel is not $1200 over and above a regular barrel. If this were a new product produced by a smaller custom shop in low numbers it could be justified, but this is and has been produced for many years in large numbers by a large commercial company, that and it doesn't offer much in features other than the CHF barrel and "Made In Canada". There's no way to justify the price, it's just plain too much for what you're getting when you ad it all together. If the LE6920 can be had for $1000 the CC shouldn't be much more than $1200 or so given it's tangible differences. If you're willing to pay almost double for bragging rights knock yourself out, just don't expect everyone else to drink the CoolAid and pretend it's more than it is because of it's inflated price.

Wasn't the special IRG price $1000 plus S/H? Was it USD? And isn't it a limited time only?

People are on a crusade against Diemaco. If someone is trying to compare a $1000 AR15 with a Diemaco C7 then debating the difference is a lost cause.

I'm in agreement with you (and posted about it already) these rifles have been shot thousands upon thousands of times. Taken a part and put back together thousands of times and had the #### abused out of them and keep going. You read stories on here about someones $3500 AR15 ####ting the bet after a dozen rounds or whatever.

You get guys like Larry Vickers saying you'd be crazy not to buy one and they would be bought up in seconds in the states yet people are still trying to compare them to $1000 rifles.

No bullsh*t. I have carried a C7 and a couple different iterations of C8 through 2 years in Afghanistan and a few other deployments. I have been in gunfights with one in my hands and was damned happy to have it.....That being said: 1) I have also had a guy (non CF) beside me using a DD rifle and it sure didn't give him any grief and 2) none of you are using these on a 2 way range. So, if you have lots of money, and want to drop big bucks on a paper puncher then fill your boots. If your on any sort of budget then consider that this is a range rifle and your life doesn't depend on it, so maybe twice the price isn't worth it. Is the juice worth the squeeze?

Except the BCM barrel is not CHF, is over 16" in length and has BCM logo laser engraved on the upper.

You're wrong. The BCM barrels are cold hammer forged and are the same quality as the Diemaco barrels, maybe even more because of the nicer finish. I own one of those BCM C8 uppers and I use the C8A3s. When I got my upper last year I even brought it to work and stripped it straight out of the box and compared it with a stripped C8A3.

BCM has to be one of the best AR-15 producers out there.

sure, looks are everything..... Good one
BCM barrels are good but not CC good.

so , are these rifles selling. I don't tbink so..,

Al Flahertys sold out the 20inch in less than a day. SRFC has one of each in stock according to there website and apparently they brought "a few skids" in. Wolverine still has stock but they just got them later last week.

I'd say they are selling ...

They are selling. AR connoisseurs and collectors are buying them up. I know a few that said they will buy it just because "what it is" or "it's nearest thing to a military spec AR you can buy in North America" most of all... it's made in Canada.

I think that's a major point.

A lot of guys on here complain about "ChiCom" Norc's and brag about being proud Canadians. Then we get a made in Canada AR, based on the service rifle of our own Canadian Forces and suddenly the complaints roll fast and steady.

Buying Canadian costs more, gets you higher quality and gives you pride in our products and our nation. Worth it to some people out there.

Spend more be more (patriotic), do it for Queen and country..............not Korth or Diemeco of course! ;)

I do understand where some people are coming from when they complain about price. The free trade agreement has f@cked us. Top quality raw materials are heading down to the States and then shipped back up with a premium price tag... but this isn't an armoire.

It's not a replica or a clone... it IS!

Thank you for your common sense and service!
