Colt M4??

The gun looks great, but I'm worried that with the stroke of a pen it could become restricted. Not only will the numbskulls in Ottawa see it as a variant of the AR-15, but they may argue that based on looks alone, its likely to be confused or some similar bullshyte reasoning. I think I'd feel safer building up a 10/22 into a tactical lookalike. Sure would like one though if its decently made and shoots well.

Sorry, i jacked this thread. Just curious since i seen a picture with one on. And it got me thinking.

Silencers or any device designed to muffle or limit SOUND are prohibited devices as defined in s. 84(1) of the criminal code of Canada.

"prohibited device" means

(a) any component or part of a weapon, or any accessory for use with a weapon, that is prescribed to be a prohibited device,

(b) a handgun barrel that is equal to or less than 105 mm in length, but does not include any such handgun barrel that is prescribed, where the handgun barrel is for use in international sporting competitions governed by the rules of the International Shooting Union,

(c) a device or contrivance designed or intended to muffle or stop the sound or report of a firearm,

(d) a cartridge magazine that is prescribed to be a prohibited device, or

(e) a replica firearm;

so would that make a bolt buffer on a 10/22 a prohibited device?

well my local canadian tire told me they have some of these on order and they have been told they are non restricted... i always chat to the guy in there and he said "ive got just the .22 for you coming soon"

they ordered them at some gun show in edmonton last week or something...

dont know how much store to set in this... but who knows... maybe they are non res...

If only we could see the actual FRT that has been or will be issued for the Umarex, all doubts would be put to rest once and for all...

Have there been any reviews of this rifle yet? I'm wondering if anyone can vouch for the accuracy and function?

I don't know about you...but for me, the cool factor far outweighs the accuracy factor. I'm sure they will be fine, and my pimped out 10/22 is plenty accurate. I can't freakin' wait for these Colts! I've been looking for a tactical kit for my 10/22 for so long, finally this has come along and seems like the perfect solution. I would probably spend as much on a kit to make my 10/22 look like an AR, and then have the pain of tearing it down to clean it......and I'm sure it will be accurate enough to take out all the gophers that come into my sights:D :sniper:
